Well I decided to have a try at dassem
Had mixed reports on him so before I go any further with
the colours thought it best to hear how you guys felt about
a half talian half dal hon dassem, heres what I came up with...

Very nice! Although he comes across as a little older in the books. Like the expression especially.

That looks really good Dolmen !
I think his hair is described as braided ( as in cornbraids) and then tied back in a ponytail, although i'm not 100% on that.

Everything else looks GRAVY !, expression, pose.

Looking forward to seeing the finished article :p
Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.
Just look at em' now, already pullin' the plow. So quick to take to grain, like some old mule.

Yeah, that's cool :p I totally dig the expression and pose! :)

And yeah, he's got 'kinked black hair' [<- quote] and usually ties it back.

More info, in case you want it to be really correct to the letter, which btw isn't that important, who looks at this stuff when the face is well done :) He wears 'layered shirts, armour and pelts' and his sword is strapped to his back. I'd make the skin a tad bit more brown, though.

Btw, there's a quote from RotCG describing Traveller/Dassem, which you nailed perfectly, imo :p

Great job on the shading. You've really captured the 'menacing' look.

@alt: aging may proove tricky with dassem, he is an ascendant afterall so cant really fix him to a particular DoB. I'll try up the weathered look a little though, thanks a lot for bringing it up.

@Masan: I actually thought it was cornrows then a friend pointed out "kinked" hair would probably be more of a dread lock thing, like captain jack sparrow almost. Totally missed the hair being tied back though, thanks for telling me. not gonna change it in this pic but will try an alternate hair style and post it up just for you :p

@ Puck: Bless you! do not like the sword sheath where it is. at all. glad its described behind him. I already started on adding more armour but thanks still for picking that up. Thanks a lot for all the added quotes, especially that last one.

@waydoug: I'm gonna try keep it as natural as possible but no promises lol.

Finished product will arrive soon...just need to get over this flu
