I was wondering lately, Aragan was a sergeant at the time that whiskey jack and his bridgeburners were on Malaz (you know, hunting down magic users in the mouse) and Aragan was there as well. Was he a bridgeburner ?

...Every tale is a gift,
And the scars bourne by us both,
are easily missed,
In the distance between us.

We can't be sure. The Bridgeburners were all there, but there might've been other troops there as well. A likely possibility is that it was an entire army (likely the 2nd), of whom the BBs were a company within that army. Thus, Aragan could've just been in the regular troops in that army. I don't think there's a way to determine for sure one way or another.
Same deal with Dujek, though there's an added bit for him about replacing Korbolo Dom, possibly as commander of the BBs, from Kalam in DG.

fairly sure Aragan was never a BB. Just a random Malazan soldier rising thru the ranks book by book. hee...
