Mafia 46.5: The Deepgate Game Factions? What Factions?

I'm here, just popping in, but I don't have much to time to add much more at the moment (i have to get out the door in a minute). Tellan's complaint rubbed me the wrong way when I first read it. I've been wondering if he's deliberately overstating the slowness of the game to try to get our minds off the cult. "Nothing's happening" is a misnomer. Maybe no one has died, but I'd bet the cult has been busily recruiting away.
Between this and the fact that Tellan hasn't exactly been visibly driving anything himself (glass houses and all that), I'm going to
Vote Tellan

Im back and caught up.
Interesting reveal by fener...But i think he might be telling the truth...call it gut.
Since we should be looking for cult i think killing him today would not be the right thing to do.
The case on korlat is that he has a power role?
That alone is not enough for me...i need to figure out if he is on my team fist and for most...then ill consider lynching him.
ESPECIALLY if people think he has a power role! last thing a person wants to do is lynch his own teams power role heh?
gonna go have a look at korlat...see if i can determine if he is on my team or not.

I noticed this as well....complaining about the lack of anything happening yet he knows full well there is a cult doing stuff behind the scenes.
Almost downplaying their existence. Or pretending he has forgotten they exist perhaps.

Ok, seems not much happened over the weekend. My apologies for not being around, the power was out here for most of the day yesterday. Anyway, if we take Fener's reveal at face value, it means we should be looking somewhere else for the cult. My only concern is that if the cult can only recruit powerless players (which has happened in the past) the someone who has effectively claimed 'RI' would likely be a prime target for recruitment. Obviously we should discuss things and weigh our options, but it's worth keeping in mind. First prize would obviously be the recruiter.
I didnt like Korlat's comment about how he expects to be killed so that he can no longer share book info. While he has been useful, this is a merc game and it's dangerous to start thinking that we 'need' a player around, which is what he's insinuating.
Lio's statement about wanting a finder was also a little odd. Not voteworthy, but worth keeping in mind.
Right, those are my thoughts on the little that has happened, let's get this game moving!

Silanah's opinion, I suppose, is not so much more valuable as more reliable - he is dead, and so proven to be one thing, whereas everyone else is still a mystery.
Of course, I have no doubt that he would be trying to push for your lynch, as his group is one down - as long as you aren't in his group, by trying to push people onto you in his dying words he can at least try and make sure his team isn't the only one to lose a man, thus helping prevent the single team being hunted as normally happens.

Gah, that's what I get for not hitting refresh. Epic cross. That was at a Fener post on the last page.

My point is merely that he probably knows no more than any other of us, and as his motives are anything but pure I don't see how his comments should be leant any more weight than say Telas, Korlat or whomever. As for Liosan's comment about finders, I don't see how that can interpreted as anything but a joke.

I agree, I dont see how PB had some magical information that the rest of weren't privy to for him to dictate who our next lynch should be.

I would be interested at looking to the person who assumed special significance/truth based on Sil being dead, then. Because I certainly don't see it that way, as my last post indicated.
He is only more reliable due to his confirmed alt - the rest is just his attempt at pushing a lynch towards someone not his team.

well, it would seem the night was at least eventful, judging from the scene

Here's the first claim to that effect. Liosan is starting to look rather fishy i'd say

Well, we're not even sure what faction Sil was in, other than being reasonably sure he wasnt cult - so his CF doesnt actually give us that much either. You'd also think that now the second priority for lynches would be whoever was on Sil's team - there's a reason Merc games always turn into a faction hunt. In which case going after his recommended lynch target is the worst place to start.

Unless he did what he did to distance himself. He pointed to Telas, seemingly without reason, as someone we should look at. That could easily be a move to distance himself from a team mate.

I think he probably was just giving us his view on who he thinks is cult...if he was a simple faction member he would want his team to kill the cult as soon as possible just as much as the rest of us.
Unless he has his own agenda...
And since we cant even be sure that he wasnt cult in the first place, i dont think taking his words at face value is going to be any help to us.

Though we should be able to find some info from his final words - even if they are random, or nothing, it gives us at least some info..

That's it for me. Bed time.
I'll be back well before deadline...I...think? Damn hard to tell. But with the weekend break over, activity should pick up.

Right, those are my thoughts on the little that has happened, let's get this game moving!

Morning all. Had a quick read through and I have to say I agree with D'riss on this, I thought the same thing when I read it. Now I was grateful for the information Korlat provided, but that doesn't equate to his being needed.
I was one of the ones putting stock in Sil's dying words, mainly because that's all we had to go on, and I am still not happy that all the questions I put to Fener are answered, but I am prepared to accept his reveal fttb.
But Tellan deserves a vote for sheer nerve.

I have to go to a meeting now, likely to drag on for some time, but (unless there is some disaster) I will be back in about 8 hours ish. Thoughts of mafia should sustain me through the meeting and prevent me sleeping
. Hopefully I will come back with inspiration.

sooo.. Instead of trying to look for the recruiter, or to make any sort of contribution to help find him, you decide to jump straight onto someone you think might've been recruited?
