What really turns me off is the costumes above all else. They look like they were made by a bunch of low-budget LARPers.

Tarsem's films (THE CELL, THE FALL) are style first. Overt, bash you in the head colour and style...It's on purpose, it's all meant to look like a stage play. Like Julie Taymor actually, quite similar.

Had no problems with it at all, myself -- it's been really good. I don't see the point in launchpad though. As the dude said, there are so many ways to see your apps already; I'm not sure why they needed to add another. I don't use it at all.
Had a couple of freezing problems but that appears to have been resolved with the update.
As for the scrolling, aye, inverting it is a bit weird but the option in system preferences is clearly described and it's not like there are many different options in the mouse section -- I maintain it was his own fault for not looking properly.
