Colberts best stuff is when it gets so stupid that he breaks character because he is laughing.

I'm wondering though. Have they changed the MO of the show? He seems a lot less "Crazy right wing TV host" and more goofball than I remember. There was a shot at the republicans right at the start. Or does he mainly use the colbert persona during interviews now?

I think with "W" leaving the White House some of the juicy topical material he could riff off of dried up some (not that Obama doesn't provide material, but he just isn't as gaffe-tastic as Bush).

As best I can tell, he is always in the "Colbert persona". He testified before congress and didn't gear it down at all.

This guy is awesome. He builds crazy slingshots as a hobby. Take a look at his youtube channel. There's a ton of videos in there.
