I finally finished one of my sketches.

timeline is NOT important!

I always pictured her as having a slightly asian cast, but thas just my mental imaging, its still a great picture

Yes, I think of her as asian looking aswell. And slighter of build aswell. More athletic and less... boyhood fantasy. (Digging the nipples, I am)

But the only real problem I have with the pic is her facial expression. She looks... clueless. Apsalar should look, well, threatening. Not a scowl or anything like that. Just something in the way she looks at you. Cold. Calculating. Maybe Indifferent... but that's not the right word.

i think she would have the same exspresion as you would paint on cotillion (unless she talked with him that is)

I was aiming for bemused (= not clueless, but... well you know what bemused means). Like maybe she was hanging out with Paran or something (that guy she sort of stabbed in the back that one time, but he doesn't mind). As for boyhood fantasy, wasn't that how she was described in the Bonehunters? Just walking right past the glaring guards? That's how I remember her anyway. That and shadows swirling around her.

I'm not happy with how she's holding the knife though. Painting hands is not easy

I like Her urb. I pictured her as a looker only after the time lapse though, not too endowed but I like
what you've done there

I think contrasting her skin to her black clothing is a good idea. If you really are planning another
picture maybe add more shadow about her eyes. not so much she becomes psychotic but
just enough to make her more...deadly

(now for a Quick question...in Drift avalii Cutters first impression of dassem as traveller was
that he looked something like apsalars brother. this never hit me till after I found out dassem
was in fact traveller. seeing that dassem it Talian and Dal Honese...

Is it safe to say apsalar therefore looks more Dal Honese or more Talian? and if so well...should
she not have more tanned skin? or is talian just more asian looking?

I have to admit I don't pay much attention to skin colour.
But she probably should be more asian looking. I'll keep that in mind.

Here's what I (think I) know:

- Dal Honese = black
- Napan = blue
- Seven Cities = black/arab
- and (maybe) Falari = ginger

Since Itko Kan is pretty much in the south, their skin might be still light but naturally tanned. Like that of people from southern China..
