Here is my version of the Otataral Dragon from 'House of Chains' pg. 564, as discovered by Pearl and Lostara Yil. It's pretty rough but I'm just trying to get back into drawing/painting, so here's what you get.

Hmm, i'd say the the body should be lean forward more.

You could make the wings bigger to allow from this, and have the tail pointing backwards, arched neck.

Those wings look ridiculously small, especially for such a broad body

i was going to say that i always pictured the otataral dragon as a bronzy colour, but this is probably not backed up at all, otherwise its pretty good

Thanks for the input guys. Like I said, it's a rough one. I read through the description and couldn't find the color, so green it was, of course, if I remembered the color of Otataral....

Wing size....ok, they might be a little small, but...I ran out of room on the canvass.(yeah that's it!)

The body leaning forward....in the description it said the chains were holding it upright tight. I just tried to wrap the chain under its head.

how's that for excuses?? haha

I would also advise placing the talons on the wings out to the second joint. In supposed actuality a dragon uses those are grapples and 'hands' of sorts. So placing them farther out instead on his shoulders basically would be a tad more accurate.

Good stuff though mate, keep it up.
I still heart Goodkind.

Sometimes it even can add to a piece, if not everything is cramped into the confines of a canvas. Try next time to - if there is one next time on this one - let the wings be bigger and go out of the image. This encourages the viewer's imagination, who still will see the wings, even if they're not completely shown :p
