Avatar has spent allot more money on advertising than Sherlock and should be showing on a hellava lot more screens.
Simple logistics tell me that Avatar would be the best bet to get as much bang for their buck with the trailer.

Seriously you could be right...there was some kind of twitter (retweet? i dont know twitter talk) on Favreau's twitter page about someone asking the trailer to be placed with sherlock holmes.
Indicating that that just might be the case!

I'm hesitant to believe Avatar will be the first to run the trailer because (despite the cost) I don't think it'll do all that well in theatres. Sure, those who know the Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise will be gunning to see it but the vast majority who haven't don't seem terribly keen. Mind you I could be wrong here.

uhm. it has absolutely nothing to do with that surprisingly good kid's cartoon, right? At all. Its like The New World (or pocahontas for ...others) in Space. With Lasers. And Robots. And hopefully a thing or two more, cause, well, James Cameron.


E: wikipedia tells me there actually will be a movie based on that series, directed by M. Might Suckzalotyon, which I shall be avoiding like the pox, and hopefully more successfully.

M. Night Shamalongadingdong has made some great movies. The guy makes a couple that aren't astounding, and all of the sudden it's gotten very fashionable to hate on him. Even his "bad" movies are not as bad as they are played up to be. But this is a derailment, and if you want to discuss him we should make a seperate thread.

On topic, Avatar and The Last Airbender are totally unrelated. The Last Airbender had to actually drop the Avatar out of its title to prevent confusion since it is comiing out later. Avatar is going to be huge and epic and if it lives up to the hype (for which I am not holding my breath) will be the greatest scifi movie of all time. The Last Airbender will be a blip enjoyed by fans of the show and then quickly forgotten by everyone else.

I just noticed that the part of my last post where I was going ontopic was not in fact on topic at all. These things happen.

Question for Ironman fans: Does he have any enemies who aren't another guy in a powered suit of some sort? Because that's going to get stale pretty quickly.
