Right, here are the topics for Sheep 11. Note that all answers should be submitted to the unfortunately misspelt 'Shepard' account. I went for an eclectic selection as I feel we keep getting rather similar topics.

Toothpaste, Spasm, Wisdom, Burnt, Shoe, Flaw, Ancient, Tangerine, Quality, Victory, Solid, Banjo, Octopus

Get Sheeping!

Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

Sir Thursday's tripping again. This should be... difficult.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I'm going to take a bit of time with my answers this round. Rushing to get them in isn't helping my results. When does this round close by the way?

@Ment Yes answers go to Shepard

Hoosier what are the terms of our bet this round?

Hmmm... I know you want a poem... but I don't know what I want in return that is as complex as that. Any ideas?

I sent mine, but I got disconnected while they were sending. Just let me know if they went through whoever checks Shepard next.

I don't know...nothing's coming to mind, somehow I doubt you want a poem of you own. You know me though Hoosier I'm up for pretty much anything.

My answers are now in by the way, difficult topics this time STD!

I kind of like that they were less run of the mill than the topics we've had of late. If nothing else they should produce some interesting answers!

I'm sure that HD's hypothesis of "culture blocks" will get a lot more supporting evidence from this round..

More than likely! I think he's already convinced, so either way it really doesn't matter what our answers or results are! :p

See I think the fact that the topics are more unusual will diminish the cultural effect - seems to me that people are more likely to have wildly different perspectives on common objects if they live elsewhere, while more abstract/unusual terms would perhaps be less biased. Total unscientific hypothesis there.

On the assumption that D'rek is somewhere in North America (which makes sense given his posting times), in the last game there were 6 Europeans, 8 North Americans and one African playing. In the game before, there were 3 Europeans and the rest were from North America. So that would seem to blow HD's theory out of the water. Seems you guys on the other side of the pond just suck at Sheep :p. (Sheep 8 there were 4 Euros to 3 NAs, but one of the Euros was McFlury who was last by a considerable margin).
