Ruse - 1

I would guess, but maybe because they are....uhmmm....busy in RL.

Its day one FFS, why do people insist on hounding people on day one to contribute.
Some people just have bad luck. And even if they ARE lurking. They are just going to blame it on RL anyways.

So why bother. Wait till at least day 2 before you start looking at these guys, you will always get people who are for some reason going to start slowly.

Are you kidding?

Do you know you just told people not to contribute on day one? And are giving people a free random-day-1-lynch pass?

oh, ffs

Serc, seems to me you're misinterpretignt he point of a day 1 lynch

it's not to lynch b/c we're a bloodthirsty bunch.
and, barring a miracle/miraculously dense scum, it's not to lynch a scum

it's to get info.
starting a day 1 train on a ultra low poster gets you 0 info.

You are correct, but putting questions about their low posting in day one either gets them to post or shows that they are intentionally lurking.

Besides it doesn't help to lynch a low poster in this case because
1) You already have a good target
2) Most people wouldn't mind taking a low poster out so come day 2 you have no info except those who died.

Plus like I said before, there is definately scum on Shadow's train. Good info will be learned from this 2 hour power train.

We can ask them to conrtibute, sure.

but D'riss is correct in that we can't really threaten them at this stage, as it's unproductive to everyone, save scum.

The ONLY scum that would be on shadow's train is the pred.

Aliens wont vote for someone that could very well be a chest popper, and the company men know that it might be their only alien at this time.

So the Pred may or may not be on shadows train, I would guess at this point everyone else on it is an inno or a company man taking a gamble.

No i am NOT kidding.

Anyone could have legitimate reasons to not be here much on day one, EVEN THE ROLED INNO's.
You are persecuting people that could very well be on team inno. You have ZERO info that suggests any of these players are scum other than their lack of DAY ONE contribution. There is no way of telling if they are going to continue being quiet for the rest of the game on day fucking ONE.
Give people a chance to contribute before you call the lynch mob...jesus

If on the other hand someone shows a pattern of being under the radar only THEN does it become relevant.
You an only start seeing this trend from day 3 onwards.

All these guys are going to say is that they have had RL issues and 99% of the time on day one that IS the case.
So what you are doing is putting attention on people with completely unfound reasons.

I agree with this completely. However, I don't think Serc's suggestion that we slow down and use all the available time is unreasonable. Nor do I think it a scummy tactic to point out that there are several people (cough Tennes cough) that aren't helping by posting to avoid modkill, and while I (and I dont think Serc) is advocating a lynch, it is important to point out that non contributers will eventually hurt us.

Bad assumption there. the aliens will pick and chose as they please, nearly all the marines, and all of the company men are targets, so they may even let captain obviously not a marine get lynched to avoid any thoughts of them not willing to kill a possible victim.

I dont think they would vote for him because the general thought is that he is about to become a chest burster.

Now does the one infected have to be a marine or could it be a colonist...?

in which case I'd think lynching shadow faster is better than waiting for anyone company to remove votes, though it would help us find out who is who.

Fine, if you all are going to be whiney and refuse to discuss anything, lets just string him up.

If we lynch him now we lose 15 hours. If we wait we have time for more info. If we don't lynch him, we can look at who refused or didn't vote for him.

Serc, once again: bring a good topic to the table and we'll discuss.

what do you expect the ppl that are currently here to tell you about the low-posters? :p
atm, I don't think Marines are likely to be infected yet.
after tonight it'll be a different story with 2-3 company men on the loose.
