It's probably more of a all mortals must have part of themselves in Hades. Since all souls are supposed to be there, I'm not sure of any case in greek mythology where someone is raised to godhood without some catch.

thinking rith now, it's the only case of "ascension" that comes readily to mind.

though I remember in introduction to the Greek cosmology, when the talk about the 5 human ages, those who died in the Golden Age, apparently did not go to the Underworld, but were granted eternal life in paradise. and many of the legendary heroes would end up there as well.

are you talking about Elysium (fields)?

I thought that all heroes who lived glorious lives were supposed to wind up there after they died.

yet Achilles, Ajax, Theseus (to name just a few) apparently did not.

and you don't get much more heroic than Achilles, even though he DID due some pretty horrific stuff.

yeah which is strange since by all means they should be there. Not sure why they aren't maybe it is your golden age thing, haven't heard that before by its valid.

or maybe they are doing the part Herakles thing, have a shade in Hades and live happily elsewhere, though I don't get that impression from Achilles talking to Odysseus.

and my foreign lit teacher was VERY open in her disdain of the author


In a different, more academic work, which was written by Haggard (sp?) I don't recall this.

i might look it up at some point, but the gist of what I remeber is that there were 5 Ages.
and the Greeks were living in the last one--a fairly common theme in world mythology, drawing many paralles with the Mesoindians.

When he pauses for breath, a short, high cry is heard. As you run to the spot, you see human fluids mixed with metal. It's that hot chick, Annalee Call. you had never expected her to be an android... although the way she maintained her cool in the mayhem was maybe a bit of a give away.

Telas (Mentalist) is dead. He was Annalee Call, an android on the side of the marines.
