By the Beer Gods, I hate the bureaucracy that runs my town and employs me.

I'm shifting from a full time position in one division to a seasonal position in another division in about a month from now.

Despite the fact that everyone knows I'm leaving my current job that I've only been at for three months, I have to do a Performance Managment review and a two year goal setting program. Two years worth of goals. For a job I'm exiting from in a month.

I've tried explaining how pointless this is but all I get are stern head shakes and "Well, you should just do it."

I've done some quick figuring and decided it will actually take me less time to create some imaginary goals, bitch about it in a post to you folks and submit them than it would to eventually convince the powers that be to let me off the hook.

So they get to review my imaginary goals for a whole month before I leave.

Got to love it...

You should give them some creepy goals, you used to be some type of public care taker?? fighting birds and what not? well you should have goals of destroying all arial fiends by month 6....

I have to deal with similar red tape and bs in the military... You have to do this, Why it's stupid? so do it anyway, everyone has to do it!

I had a similar thing when I left the Honda car plant I used to work in. I'd already given my months notice but I still had to sit down with my boss and discuss goals, training and career aspirations. Complete waste of his time but I was happy sitting in the office drinking coffee rather than being out on the assembly line working.
