Baruk was involved with the TTG and a powerful figure in Darujhistan, which was funding the war against the Pannion, so he certainly had involvement and probably communicated with them via the TTG delivering shipments to the army. The vial was made by QB, as mentioned already there's Karpolan's quote plus QB is noted for his soul-shifting talents (ie: Hairlock).

The vial was intended for Coltaine. Whether Dujek/QB/Baruk knew he would be resurrected by the crows or not, they would've still wanted Coltaine to use it. As Dujek said "The Empress cannot afford to lose [Coltaine]". Resurrection by the crows takes a generation, resurrection by this method takes days, maybe weeks at most.

The Bhoka'ral ((or Nachts) which probably are housing for demons, as per Baruk's treatise on the usefulness of Bhok'aral as a repository for captured demons (see one of the chapter openers)), do not make any mention indicating as to whether they are looking for Coltaine or Duiker, nor do they note any discrepency. It was probably enough for them to find the body with the vial and that was that.

Gesler, Stormy and Truth went looking for Duiker after arriving with the Silanda in Aren (shortly after Sha'ik arrived near Aren). Gesler and Stormy saw Duiker's body but lied to keep Truth's hopes up. In HoC, Gesler notes that Duiker's body was no longer there when the bodies were removed from the trees/when they passed.

Whether Baruk was surprised to find it was Duiker who was saved or not, he reanimated him anyway and Duiker took up residence in K'rul's Bar.

Just to be pedantic Coltaine was/is reincarnated not ressurected the difference being signifigent for many reason the least of which is the time factor.

Dujek's army, with Darujhistan/Baruk/TTG's assistance, engages in campaign against Pannion Domin (with assorted others present including QB). Altho allegedly outlawed, Malazans are still actually working for Laseen and the Empire.

Same time, 7C Whirlwind rebellion takes off. Chain of Dogs rolls out w Coltaine in command. Duiker sends Kulp with Stormy and co to rescue Heboric, then rejoins Chain.

Word of Chain reaches Genabackis. Dujek figures Laseen needs Coltaine, whatever happens. Has QB make soultrap charm, gets Baruk to send food/water supplies to Chain via TTG. TTG delivers soultrap to Coltaine.

Coltaine, pissed, gives charm to Duiker.

Coltaine sends Duicker with refugees to Aren. Duiker last one in after ensuring all surviving refugees are thru the gate.

Mallick skullfucks Pormqual, Aren Legion rides into trap, Duiker dragged along for the ride and ends up crucified. Soultrap charm activated.

Stormy and co arrive at Aren, go looking for Duiker. Find body but don't realize it's him.

Baruk's nachts/demons arrive, looking for charm - not knowing/caring who wore it. They take charm, take down Duiker's body.

Baruk repairs Duiker's body, returns soul. Drops Duiker off at Krul's bar for a drink at the end of MoI.
