If been waiting for this... but honestly... that trailer makes the film look stupid. 'd heard what it was about but this is not what I was expecting from Tarrantino. But again, who's ever heard of Brad Pitt starring in a proper action film.

Really looking forward to the film but the trailer does leave me a little cold. Mr Pitt sounding rather hammy I think. However, I'm sure an 18 certificate trailer will satisfy my Tarantino blood lust

I don't see how the trailer makes the film look stupid. I think it looks bloody awesome.

And Brads neck scar? Fucking awesome.

There's a detailed fanboy rant by Harry Knowles on aintitcool.com ... guy got to hang around the set for a while and has a detailed non-spoiler report

This line from that blog stuck out for me...

"In my time on the set – I feel I can say with confidence, that I witnessed the brutal deaths of over a 100 Nazis."

I bet I could brutally eat over 100 Nazis.

Looks like it is going to do exactly what it says on the tin! There must be more to it than just "killing Nazi's" though..... Some bits look rather brutal. Tarantino movies can go either way these days. The only bit of Deathproof I really liked was when that girls leg came off :D

The first part of Deathproof, before he hits the first girls, is really, really good. What I expect of tarrantino and the actors he picks. Great dialogue, cool scenes, funny/hot/quirky characters. Then they start the second part with the other girls and it just turns into a load of bullshit.

The film is worth watching just for Kurt Russel though. So awesome.

if you have a chance to see the original film on dvd, there is an interview between the 2 directors in which you can see how completely opposite they are personality-wise..

the original was a very good film and ahead of its time.. there were cheesy scenes of course but it worked and was released as 'GI Bro' some places for its strong black 'basterd' character.. this line-up of bastards doesn't compare to the original in these first few clips unfortunately..

Tarantino is not making a remake...its just inspired by the original.

thats good.. either way this line-up looks weak, as far as badass nazi killin' goes.. manly men to bat boys.. lets see how interesting they make it..

Well the "bastards" are meant to be nerdy looking Jew boys killing nazi's...
So for the nerdy Jewish look they got pretty damn good cast for that if you ask me.

Aren't all the soldiers in Tarrantino's movie supposed to be Jewish, which would make sense considering they're about to get ultra violent with the Nazis?
I'm also guessing the transformation from bat boy to vicious soulless torture killing machine is what Tarrantino will lean towards. As a commentary on the becoming what you hate and that war makes us all inhuman and so on.

That new footage looks awesome. I now have more faith in Tarrantino pulling this off. I'm still not sure what to expect though... I expect shennanigans...

I think if you go into the film expecting it to be a gory and bloody thing with no real plot or character but most likely some cool dialogue and witty reposte, then you will love it. Expect too much and you will hate it. Myself, I am definitely going to see it. :D
