I am confused about the Jaghut war against death.
I was of the opinion that Hood sort of lead this war against death and won it. Then all the gods got together and had a deal with Hood. I mean Draconus is very upset to see hood inside Draginpur saying that he sort of betrayed the trust of all the gods.
Am I wrong in my thinking here or did something else happen?

Seems right to me. Don't imagine that the gods made a deal with Hood ,maybe just the Elder Gods.
But other than that, I imagine it went down like you say.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Going back a while into the series, in Shaiik's camp, when Kalam and Cotillion go apeshit on their attackers in Bidithal's hovel. The crazy guy who witnessed it became even more insane, definitely something epic had taken place.

"The battle of Kartool, which had seen an exchange of sorcery that made Moon's Spawn look like a child's cantrip"
Which included the Bonecaster Olar Ethil, who in Soletaken form is larger than Rake as a Dragon.

That's the one I was looking for! Damn, that'd be something to see.
Wish I'd seen more of that battle where Kallor lost his horse, Vaderon. Sounded like just about everybody was there-FA, Jheck, etc.

Blow by blow, the clash wasn't narrated, just the aftermath. 12 dead claws, Topper, Surly and Possum are carrying injuries and Dancer appears later at the deadhouse covered in blood. The fight is alluded to but not described.

I preferred that way of relating the fight. None of the POV characters were in that room, so why should we see it?
I loved the image of Kellevand's tapping his cane as he paced back and forth in the room above Tay/Kiska's heads.
So I can't agree with you there I'm afraid. That scene was handled superbly in my opinion.

I go back and forth on this - on the one hand, the way ICE writes a fight scene, yeah, it would have been great, but the way it was done, in my head, it will always be great.

We don't actually know that he did. Silch killed a bunch, but while we know the Errant and his worshippers came into conflict with the FA, we don't actually know what happened or whether it had anything to do with the extinction, especially since logistically, by the time of the FE when the Errant/FA conflict would have happened, Silch would have already wiped out most of the FA - obviously not all, but lots.

Maybe, but how can it compare to DG. Anyhow, he was back in charge in RCG, albeit in diapers.

The way it was described i understood that the Jaghut were essentially destroyed as a race because of the war, and it ended with Hood ascending to a 'custodian' position, basically correcting the problem - the lack of an afterlife - that the Jaghut had gone to war over.
So they lost but won, or won but lost, so to speak.

Do you mean the Jaghut v FA conflict Brood suggests to Endest is still going on on Assail?
As for moi, i want to see that Edur sea battle that spilled into the Nascent.

In recent times:
The campaigns of Greymane are often told about with great awe. I'd like to see one of those battles.
Of the ancient times:
The Forkul Assail fought wars against the Jaghut. Would be cool to see an account of one of those 'meetings'.
Also the civil wars of the K'Chain Che'malle against their short-tailed siblings the Nah'ruk

I'd like to see some scenes from the Just Wars, see how the Liosan fared against the FA. There must have been some mean fights between them.
Als,o seeing the Perish humbling the Edur fleets would have been fun.

I would like to know what happened between Skinner and the 2nd, we may well find out.
Generally though i want more info about the "lesser" used characters ( FA, Liosan, Perish, Shal Morzinn etc)
Just how do the FA roll ? Weapons, warrens, magics... we know they are fast and are mustard in a punch up ( Calm gave Karsa and his pal a right pasting) and that Ruin fought them (swords ?).
I just hope we get more in the next books, I want more FA dust ups, more I tell you !!! :broody:

For me it would be mostly the earlier battles I would want to read about. Mott Wood, the Wickan Wars, the original invasion of Korrel and so on. Come to think of it, some kind of prequel telling the story of the rise of the Empire from the first days of Kellanved on Malaz Island through to, basically, Pale, would be terrific!
Victory is mine!

Kellanved vs. Treach and Ryllandaras outside Li Heng probably would have been pretty cool. Fiddler mentions it to Kimloc in DG
So, you're the historian who survived the Chain of Dogs.
Actually, I didn't.
It seems you stand alone.
It was ever thus.
