i got the idea that dragnipur, when you kill someone with it, sucks the persons (or beings) soul out and takes it within itself. the bodys remain, as we see with the hounds of shadow slain by rake. so, there would be souls within drag. but in the end of TTH, it is claimed that some people escaped drag when it was destroyed (for ex. Draconus). then, if he was a mere soul when in drag, what would he be now, kinda ghost? a wandering soul? or does he possibly get a body back, cause he could not cause that much mischief if being only a ghost.

Well in GotM Raest said tha tafter getting his finnest back he would forge a new body. We must assume that powerful beings like Draconus, Hood etc can make a new body once their out of Dragnipur.
On the other hand in MT it was said that once dead Scabby's soul would still have had all the power that he had when alive( although that's different because there was Gothos ritual). So yes Draconus could even have returned as a sort of ghost.

Seems the soul is the power and the body is just that, an empty body. Not only is there Raest anticipating reforging his own body, but additionally he, Cotillion and others leave their bodies to posess people and that doesn't seem much of a hindrance at all. Additionally, there's Quick Ben. When he spirit walks he usually fashions a projection of his own body as he goes around (in GotM he actively does so mid-way through a spirit walk on the way to ST, so it's definitely him just mentally fsahioning it and his bloated corpse definitely stays behind).

I can't recall exactly, but in tBH, when Quick spirit walks to G'danisban he leaves his body in the desert, but then has the physical capability of dragging his sister and all that. Maybe ST moves his body when he teleports Quick to G'dan, but otherwise I'd say that's a serious bit of body unimportance...

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

You know something we don't?

I remember someone saying in TtH that Hood was gone forever more. So, maybe not everyone will become a wandering soul.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Draconus the only one returning that we know about? Maybe he managed it because he created the sword or because he's Elder.

Lady Envy said that Draconus had returned.Logic says that other powerful beings have done that.
And there's also Vorcansaying she didn't want them spilling in Daruhjistan. She's definetly speaking plural

What happens to the souls that had been used up and had to be drawn in the cart?
Will they have the power to reforge there body's or will they just vanish to oblivion?
They may cut your dick in half
And serve it to a pig
And though it hurts, you'll laugh
And dance a dickless jig

very interesting. i do not think so, because then the preparations for decimating the entities in the sword would do no good. they would anyway go back into the world one and all.

Pretty sure they were sacrificed either to create the child god or to fuel Rake's ritual.

There are serious violations of the law of conservation of energy in progress here... magic be damned. :p

My guess is this... those whose souls were still intact inside of D'pur will be spilt out again (no return for Rake, or most of the legion of the dead/ folks like Pearl that got eaten up by Chaos).

That said, if EVERYONE that went into D'pur and had his/ her soul intact when it was broken is going to be spilled out, we will see the following again:

Apsal'ara
Draconus
Hood (although, I suspect he might not want to exist any more)
(add any others you could think of)

I'm hoping SE throws in at least a mention of how they forged their bodies/ got gifted bodies by some energy vortex or some such

Maybe they can choose whether to return. You said Hood might not want to, and that's definitely worth thinking about.

Well, when you're warren hoping it would seem that one moment you're insubstantial the next you're not. If Hedge could become solid again, I'm guessing it's no problemn for ancient gods...

The Refugium was a special case though... it was near the nexus of multiple gates (including the most important one into Starvald Demelain) and it had been somehow sanctified by Gothos or some such. Plus the Bentract Imass living their believed the world was real, which made it real, or some such psychobabbleshit.

The "get a new corpse in a warren hopping exchange offer" thing isn't that easy otherwise - it did naught for Hairlock for instance

I think Hood will return out, but maybe go into isolation like gothos in a azath or something similar. I think he will enjoy some private time after spending eternity with a big bunch of souls, zombies, wraiths etcetc

If they all are released into the world, you can bet an Azath will spring up...that's what I think anyway.
