Lovely. Really enjoy that Apsalar pic (or who I assume is Apsalar in the second).
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Wow, some nice stuff there!
Of the character scetches I really like Tavore, Gruntle, Spite, Rallick Nom, Scillara and love Shurq. The others are good, too, but the mentioned suit my imaginations of the characters the most :harhar:

And the coloured Apsalar is really cool!

So last night I was walking downtown for some pizza at like 1am with some friends of mine,
and someone said, "I'm so hungry I could eat a whole pizza."

I said, "I bet I could eat 100 pizzas," and no one understood me. I was sad.

Unbelieveable work as usual Onrack! I love what you did with Gruntle, Nimander and Rallick Nom. Interesting concepts on the seguleh masks as well!

Wonderful again! Why don't you make some sketches like the first page for most of the characters?

I love the Seguleh concepts, although I always pictured the masks as being really smooth / oval somehow, less angular...no details other than the markings. Mind you, that's just me... :harhar:

same as! though reading through the books I now have the impression that not all the masks are the same and I suppose if the masks were made from some sort of clay then they probably would be rounder and smoother so a good way to distinguish people (other than the marks) would be to add different shapes and edges to them, of course I can in no way substantiate this as it's more of a musing than a theory but hey thats the freedom books give......I just finished a picture of Kalam sorting out some claw HI-YAAAAA

Will the visual orgasms never cease?! I sure hope not!

Out of curiosity, Onrack, is the new Kalam one inspired/set/based/whatever on him in Malaz City in Deadhouse Gates or in the Bonehunters?

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

bonehunters, though in retrospect the picture would have looked better if he was running along the roofs than alleys, that's like one of the best bit in the whole series

I love the Kalam picture. Awesome stuff. I do picture him being darker in skin tone, but I've no idea how much harder that is to carry off.
Very dynamic image .

Plus I like your idea of the variation in the masks. Gives you a lot more scope for some creative designs. Can't wait to see your next offering.

Out of curiosity Onrack, have you tried to do a sketch of Dancer on a killing spree. It's one of those images I'd love to see a representation of, but I've no idea how you'd even go about portraying the deadliness of "the rope" as a weapon.

Come on, the rope curling around a sword raised to block it and into some poor smuck's heart would be an awesome image. Plus the whole 'whipping into someone's eye and pulling large amounts of head material out as it withdraws' bit from HOC.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.
