Mafia 38: Haunted House Massacre (Game thread)

Something about you, not too sure what, distracted them from the fact that Lio, Kess, and...somebody else all hopped promptly on Omtose's train. Either they legitimately believe the reveal is legit, which is fairly n00b, or they are scum and equally n00b for jumping on such an obviously baseless train. This is not to say that I'm entirely void of suspicion on Omtose, but what he did to encourage the train is about as meaningful as if I'd posted the entire lyrics to Van der Graaf Genereator's song, I Am the Necromancer.

Aye, yes, that wasn't a fun mistake for us to make.
The irony is, Day One usually does end up in the lynch of an inno, not deliberately, but all the joking tends to make one of us look suspicious.

sigh, well I recall a certain someone who self-voted on day 1 and got labelled as scum and voted off for it...
We really don't react well to humour here, it would seem.

I've noticed several, *cough*Grief*cough* who simply can't distinguish joke from scum. It can be quite frustrating at times.

well, a bunch of people got uppity when I pointed out that Thyr voted 4 times over 5 hours... the fact that I did a joke vote on meanas, then a post later, voted Thyr with a reason seemed "inconsistent",

Thyr seemed lynch happy, but I put it down to n00bism, for the moment.
I thought he was someone who's playstyle I knew, but now Im more convinced he's modcraft.

Referring to Mockra, thought I didn't need to edit because I ended up right after one of his posts anyways.

yes.. but as a different game ran by certain crazy mod tried to remind us, mafia's also about having fun. there shouldn't be anything wrong with joking around, as long as you also try to submit some content.

Im very tempted to vote D'riss, because he has what, one post, which was basically jumping on an easy target.
Any opinions?
I can pass Liosan's vote off as a joke vote, sort off.

I'm not so sure that noobism is the response here. We have what? 3 or 4 new people in on this game or so, and I doubt that a noob is playing as one of the top posters. I would guess modcraft as well, or someone from here hiding his playstyle.

Precisely! That's partly why I was so shocked to see that everyone had so abruptly turned around and started talking serious when I had some top hole spam I wanted to throw around.
As for D'riss, I don't care either why, I think he's just a n00b, however, if the n00b doesn't learn, and turns out to be destructive to the team, we should probably put him down.

lemme see what he wrote...
ok, he's another one of the non-jokers...
hmm, looking at those voters, Ruse is actually another one that piques my interest. he's way too agressive, too early. makes me think he's another modcrafter, because our agressive players tend to also be nonsensical half the time...

Remember Lisheo, he posted a ridiculous amount in his first game, and he was a n00b.
No one here hides their playstyle that well, let's face it, bar maybe Gem!

During the time of waiting before this game, I buzzed by ModCraft to read some of the games, and I found that they do have a couple of REALLLY spamy posters, though some of them are originally from here. Still, it's not impossible that Thyr is from ModCraft.

ok good points.
I was just thinking that if someone is inexperienced they might be a little more skittish in posting and getting attacked. But spam is a little different I guess, and Lish was a good example.

Sadly, no

I've never checked out a modcraft game, but I do remember someone say they can be very aggressive players, so you could be right, Ruse could be modcraft, or Westerosi, who take their Mafia super serious.
Tbh, right now I'm just going to
vote D'riss
and hope he appears.

i thought we agreed once and for all after 32 that n oobis is no excuse for a potential scum

I'm not saying that the noobs are scum, though with the numbers in this game it is possible that some are.
Just saying that I doubted that Thyr was a noob.
On a side note- it is nice to have people around during my night hours. Usually we get stuck with dead board.

I have to agree, usually the whole site is dead during the late hours.
