Hehe, nice one. I didn't pick up on that. Might not be a reference to Kruppe, but I like the idea.

Don't remember if this is introduced in DhG, HoC, or tBH, it has nothing to do with Kruppe per se, and isn't really spoiling anything, but I'll spoiler it in any case.

Now that you mention it dragons do have a kind of "muley" look about their face... Maybe the mules are Eleint in disguise :p
