Frook: for X-com 4., try UFO: Aftermath and UFO: Aftershock....
They were simply awful! didn't play much of them at all. the interception sucked to high heaven and everything else was a waste. Upgraded graphics is par for the course, but there needs to be some better interception, why not have interception fleets that fight turn based or real time?
In the battle arena the troops can use surveillance equipment to target the bad guys.mortars, sentry guns.the list is endless. Xcom is hot property and it is just going to waste. Pretty soon it will be just a dim memory and it will be too late to cash in...I hate ATARI its is a shit company

A sequel to Return to Castle Wolfenstein. I've been playing the remake since sunday and it's just so damn good. Why did they never make another one?
I think I may have completted the game twenty or thirty times since it was released and it just never gets old.
There is nothing like shooting cartoon nazi's for fun

Apt, there is definately a new Wolfenstein in the making. I forget the name right now, but I've read some articles about it.
@ Traveller- your RPG idea is awesome.

hmm
I've actually read the story in one of the reviews of the game
the creators were gonna make their own company and launch UFO 4, but then corporate world got in the way and the title rigths were sold--first to the Czechs that did Aftermath, then to some Hungarian group that made Aftershock.
Interception was always crap in UFO, it was just a gimmick. (EDIT: the only good part about it was the cool music they played during interception)
UFO to me must have:
interesting geoscape space--where you have to worry about your economy, equipment, research/development, etc
tactical maps must have
a) suspence
B ) TOTAL destructibility--on the terror missions in UFO, there was NOTHING you couldnt' destroy, if you had heavy weapons
c) multy-storey
d) turn-based mechanics-- I swear, there is NO tac-shooter experience better than hunting purple fliers from abductor-sized UFO when they are hiding all over those barn-type buildings AT NIGHT (I've almost always used laser rifles... and they'd be pelting me with plasma... oh, good times....)
I've played Aftermath and was not impressed by the geoscape or the tactical component. the city missions SUCKED--walk down straight as an arrow street untill you spot a mutant bug with a human torso shooting you with an AK, kill it, repeat ad nauseum
the instalation missions were ridiculous--close quarters, no armor, and very limited "duck and cover"--no comparison with the alien bases in UFO1, where you use a window to shoot, then duck, b/c you had 0 time to retreat....
Aftershock refused to run on the old derelict PC, but I'veheard from reviews that in it they at least made the Geoscape component interesting

Not bad ideas, I'd buy them.
The studio behind the Total War franchise is busy developing a sci-fi/ fantasyish total war kind of game for console atm. I like their previous offerings, so this one should be good.
As for LotR: LotR Conquest dropped today- it is like starwars battlefront but LotR. The demo was awesome so I will be buying it.
The last one- Civilization Revolution sounds kinda like what you are getting at, except it isn't really an RPG in my books.
EDIT: Malazan: Total War, Malazan: Total War

KOTOR 3, done by BioWare, and without LucasArts meddling.
FFIII (US) remade for the PC, with orchestral music and better graphics (cut-scenes, especially), but everything else exactly the same. I don't even want voice-acting - text is fine.
Better yet, a sequel set in that world.
A Crystalis remake.
A Zelda game that sticks to the hack-'n-slash, explore-a-map roots. I haven't played any Zelda games since 3, and it was perfect, so more of that.

Cheers Stalker.
Malazan Total War would be just incredible though. Don't know how they'd make it fair with the mages 'n all, but would be great to have such a variety of armies and units - Wickans, KC's, Malazans... soletaken, Barghast... with the new ship mechanics, they could have Edur raiders etc.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

mages would be fair... Tiste races: good mages (no doubt) costy and few and the edur kind might blow them self to hood at the same time. Humans: many mages (reativly) weak, but many, best employed as suports not killers themself
and btw high mages are "famely members"...
malazans would be owerpowerd but romans are owerpowerd in rome... (selucids too btw)

Huh? Since when?
Hell, I'm still waiting for the Sith Lords Restoration Project to finish up (they're restoring a lot of lost official content to KOTORII, and adding some custom content to flesh out the story. They've been at it for more than 3 years now ...)
I finally have an avatar ... and it's better than yours.

As far as I know, the KOTOR you are refering to is the MMO version. It is Bioware made, and I think they are working with another studio that is used to the MMO aspect of gaming. There have been shots posted but I think it is still well in development. But an MMO based in the KOTOR days of Star Wars seems like a good idea.
KOTOR is great though. The first time I played it, my computer crashed and had to go into full system restore, so I lost everything before I could beat the game. I was at the part where

Yeah, I'm not thinking of that as KOTOR 3 at all. I want resolution, damnit. Which is why I don't bother with MMORPGs, as I'm not real thrilled with pot-smashing-without-a-plot type stuff. I prefer contained story-arcs, preferably in large quantities (like Oblivion, with its huge number of side-plots, or FFIII).
I don't mind some pot-smashing, but only as a means to an end, not as a purpose in-and-of itself. And certainly not in a competitive fashion. I'll save my online competition for FPS (Forgotten Hope for BF2).

There are a few games I'd like to see.
A) An Aliens game where they actually use the many different kinds of Alien from back in the day(Mantis, Bull, Crab, etc.) and not just the typical guerilla Aliens.
A new Fire Emblem game with new units. I mean c'mon, how hard would it be to invent a flying mounted mage or a flying mounted archer?
C) A game of my own design, which I've been working on since freshman year of high school.
D) An explosion of super smash -esque games.
- another smash game with nintendo characters, but with the melee fighting engine and not brawl's toned-down crap
- a pokemon smash game(i just think it'd be awesome to be able to fight with actual animated pokemon)
- I think final fantasy XIIIversus is a final fantasy version, so that's cool
E) Another pokemon idea: and FPS where you're a pokemon poacher and are tasked with finding and killing or capturing all of the pokemon for various clients. Uncommons and rares being the main focus. Once you have killed or captured a target, you will be able to upgrade your weapons by reverse engineering a pokemon's attacks for your own use(you kill Suicune, you can make your weapons have water abilities)
That's it for me, I think.

Dresden Files MMORPG
Factions:
White Council, Vampire Courts, Warlock, Faerie.
Classes:
Different types of wizards (dps, healer, tank) available to all factions, each faction gets 'special' units, such as different types of vampires for the VC, wizards that can specialize in more than one thing for the council, evil wizards with MC for warlocks, or hell billy goat's for the Faeries.

Only someone with this much power could make this many frittatas without breaking any eggs.

I've recently fixed the problem that prevented me from re-installing the game, and am now playing through it again... that game was sick.
