Just read the first three books - very enjoyable and I can see how they influenced some of SE's writing.
However I do have one question: who/what were Tracker and Toadkiller Dog? I read it that Toadkiller Dog was an evil demon who escaped from the barrowlands when they freed Raven, but how and why did it join up with Tracker? And just what was Tracker?
Help!

Ooh ages since I read those. Uhm, I remember that a demon escaped from under that godling tree, but not much more than that. Was that Tracker?

No, that was an earlier Dominator type that old father tree sat on to stop him making mischief. Trachker was already hanging around when that bad boy tried to escape.

If I recall (I'm reading the last book, Soliders Live, right now) Toadkiller Dog and Tracker were demons working for Soulcatcher, and were imprisoned in the Barrowlands with her. I remember being fuzzy about it while reading the trilogy, but I think one of the later books says as much in a passing comment. It could be in The Silver Spike, which ties up the loose ends from the trilogy and features Toadkiller Dog.
Oh yeah, there's a decent Glen Cook wiki that covers all of the Black Company characters. But be warned that it's full of spoilers. And yes, what I said above is correct. From Toadkiller Dog's article:

"Glen Cook Wiki" said:
Toadkiller Dog is a demon originally summoned by Soulcatcher during the Domination. His form is somewhat protean, though he is "most comfortable" as a ferocious quadruped half as big as an elephant. He cannot speak, but can mentally communicate with his companion demon Tracker and some of the Taken (e.g. the Limper). Toadkiller Dog is a formidable opponent: in one fight, he kills a hundred armed and armored Imperial soldiers and twenty hounds in a matter of minutes. Also he is revealed as quite intelligent and pragmatic, and likely was the brains of the duo.
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

Cheers, very helpful. Still a bit unsure as to why Tracker was helping the Black Company but Toadkiller Dog was chowing down on them.
Edit: Just looked up the Wiki and it explains it all. Thanks for all the help.
