I don't know how to do spoilers but there are possibly going to be some minor spoilers in here, so if you haven't finished the book, you've been warned.

This is my first post so i apologize in advance for anything i do wrong.







When Fid and the gang entered Tremerlor Moby stopped and looked up at the massive suit of armor which happened to be the other guardian of that house. When Fid made it to Deadhouse they see another massive suit of armor.

I pictured those suits of armor as being worn by the same species. Was wondering if anybody else has wondered about the species the wears said armor to battle?

On a side note i've read up to reaper's gale. in case it's mentioned further along in the series and i just can't remember

You don't have to warn about spoilers, if you're discussing the events of the book the forum is dedicated to. Or the earlier books for that matter. If you want to discuss the later books, just go to the latest book forum. Just make sure to not put spoilers in the tittle.

There's been lots of discussion on those suits of armor. There is a theory that there isn't anyone inside the armor. Rather it is animated either with magic or invested with the soul of some being the Azath ate years ago.

They're certainly not a race. When you read on you'll hear of more guardians, they come in all shapes and sizes.

While you will eventually see the armor from an Azath house do something in a later book

, we haven't really seen a Guardian get in and out of the armor, and indeed we frequently see Guardians not in the armor, such as the remains of the FA Guardian in Tremorlor. Thus it is still debatable whether the armor is actually worn by the Guardians, or whether the armor sets are controlled remotely by the Guardian or Azath itself, or something different. They're certainly not just decorations, though, as the one in the Deadhouse had lots of damage showing.

Perhaps Jenna wore it when she fought Temper? Though Temper probably uses his own armor since he doesn't reside within the house.
