I think it's fairly safe to say ST is not the same person as Iskaral Pust. For one: if this was the case, it'd be even more silly of ST when he pretended Iskaral was going after Dragnipur to use it for himself. I can udnerstand this idea crosses your mind, but I'd find it very disturbing if it lingered

I think that only supports the idea. I don't think Cotillion would of agreed with Shadowthrone having Dragnipur, nor would anyone else. Iskaral Pust going for it, would see almost harmless with all the others after it. Perfect cover for Shadowthrone to get even more power - which is what he's always after right?

Yes, but if ST is indeed Iskaral Pust, then Cotillion would truely know about it, and if Cot knew about it there's not even a spot of shadow in ST that should think about blaming Iskaral for going after Dragnipur, even though ST didn't command it (as happened in TtH) because then ST would be basically saying "phew, lucky I didn't get my hands on Dragnipur. It was pretty fraightening when I suddenly stopped listening to myself". Even though when writing it I'm actually thinking this would be something ST might say, I still believe SE wouldn't let ST say these kinds of things, and that ends the deal.

Honoustly, Iskaral does have resemblances to ST, his God, but this doesn't mean they're both the same person. If you however do think they're one and the same, then I'm telling you the bhokarala that constantly follow Iskaral around are also ST, after all they're constantly trying to be like Iskaral too?

They're not the same, I'm pretty sure there's a direct conversation between ST and Iskaral somewhere. Allthough I can't seem to think of any moment where that does happen :s

The conversation happened in tBH. I don't have the exact passage but Iskaral is just talking to himself and ST is amused and exasperated at the same time kinda thing.

Now if ST WAS Pust, Cot wouldn't necessarily need to know. I'm sure ST has alot hidden from even him. Even if Cot DID know, ST could probably still get away with saying something like "good thing Pust didnt get the sword, huh buddy?" because he pulls shit like that all the time with Cot: ("I sommoned them ofcourse!" - "...you did not... sommon them, shadowthrone...")

Anyway, I still don't think Pust and ST are one and the same. They're too different. For one, I've noticed that ST seems to get more and more crazy in every book. in GotM he seemed like a completely different person from who he is by the end of TTH. But he still seems, in his craziest, alot saner than Pust.

What I thought was obvious though was that ST set Pust out to get drag for him. It wasn't Pust trying to get it for himself. That was just the facade. Did anyone else think this?

Obviously.
And ST basically admits it to Cot somewhere at the end too. I searched it for you:

TtH pge 913 said:

'Hmph! I was more worried by my Magus's temporary sanity.'
'Is that what you call it?'
'He had a chance - a slim one, but he had a chance. Imagine that one wielding Dragnipur.'
Cotillion regarded his companion. 'Are you suggesting he would not have relinquished it? Ammanas, really. That was all your play. I'm not fooled by his seemingly going rogue on you. You vowed you'd not try to steal the sword. But of course you never mentioned anything about one of your High Priests doing it for you.'
'And it would have been mine!' Shadowthrone hissed in sudden rage. 'If not for that confounded fat man with the greasy lips! Mine!'
'iskaral Pust's, you mean.'
Shadowthrone settled down once more, tapped his cane. 'We'd have seen eye to eye, eventually.'

So, I agree, we can argue about ST being completely mad again in this conversation and, in his madness, hoping he was going to get his hands on Dragnipur, or at least pretending he actually ordered Iskaral to do so (as he also did with the Hounds of Light); but I'm pretty sure he's very honoust in this particular conversation. Especially because just a few sentences later he admits not having written the Book of Shadow himself.
Ah well, with Gods one can never be too sure, but it sure as hell is hinted that way indeed.

PS: you've got to love that scooby doo reference: "And it would have worked, if not for those meddling kids!" SE, I love thine writing :p
