first off, people who have played before only.
Second off, you have to be able to get online at least once every 24 hours.

We'll be using www.gamesbyemail.com to adjudicate so the 24 hour deadline can not be altered.

Brood pm'd a few people earlier and suggested a 10/30 min game, and brood, myself and std tested it. 30 mins is not feasable as a full game would take too long. ten mins simply isnt enough time to diplome properly.

So, we're going to set it at a 24 hour deadline, but as soon as the last set of orders is in it auto resolves, so the initial turns can be rushed through in an hour no problem.

we want 7 for a standard game. I considered the possibility of (in the cases of the low weekend acess lkike dibs) people teaming up and sharing an e-mail address to play.

its a good system once you get into it. their inbuilt chat is a little sluggish for realtime converrsation, but fine for exchange messages at pm rate, so those without msn/aim wont be disadvantaged.

(diplomacy is called politics on gamesbyemail and I'll be setting up the game and randomising countries before, we'll explain how to log on once we get enough interest)

First: I pity poor ST to be named std by you.

Second, I love to be in... but I see 24h being a massive timedrainage, especially in the later stages, and with Mafia, dip 3.0, Adjudicator, a social life and mmorpg playing, this is going to mess too much with my spare time. Or I'll play more at work, but my current productivity is already beneath par, so I work overtime nowadays.

I'm game for it, but only in the holiday season :p

the beausty is if we're all online we can do a turn in half an hour if we decide we're happy with our moves.
once the last set of orders is comitted it resolves.

and exampple game:
http://www.gamesbyem...olitics#Preview

just to demonstrate how the interface works. theres a public chat window on the right, then if you want to communicate privately with any nation, simply double click on their name (4 above the map, 3 below)
In this preview when you submit a set of orders it jumps to the next nation, but in a real game it submits and tells yo who we are waiting on.
You can change orders up until the last submit occurs.
Once all orders are in, the map changes to the move phase for you to study (i screen dumped it just for my own leaky heads sake) then you resolve and start your next move.
Note the timer resets when the last set of orders gets submitted, not when you click resolve, so dont be surprised if you resolve and find a few hours already gone

ETA:
thats 5 definates
(me, brood, ja, std and toby) tappers still an unknown.

how the game set up works - I set up the game, input all your e-mails and names, you then recieve an e-mail with a password. You go to games by mail and login with the password they gave you, then game on.

Haha, I can imagine myself having different chat windows open and type "OK, stupid Germany is falling iin my trap and is agreeing to the fake plan I proposed" in the wrong one.

Ah well, what the fuck, sign me up. I'll warn you all straightaway that I will not spend hours on the game, though... most of my diploming will be done with single-syllable messages, like:

Yes. No. Fuck. Peace? Die!

If I get creative, I might include Bastard as well.

Oki, I kid. But i won't type official treaties or letter sized proposals/answers. If that's not your fancy, do feel free to search for someone else :p
