I can't make up my mind.

The voice is all distorted for some reason, which is a real shame. It's like someone with a deeper voice than Axel is drowning out his vocal.

The instruments are sort of out of whack. Kinda Guns of Roses but not really.

The chorus is just disappointing, you think it's leading to the truly awesome chorus, but all you get is just this wussy middle part.

And yet, it's not bad, I can bear to listen to it, it works if you play it on some big ass speakers loud enough to drown out your own thoughts... I'm just not feeling the love.

There's a couple more songs out there. Two more if I remember aright. I haven't listened to those yet.

I came to the same conclusion you did: the single, Chinese Democracy, is not bad. When evaluated in comparison to what's on the radio, it's pretty good, but that's like comparing a 5'6'' person to a 3 foot tall midget.

Typical Axl Rose, it sounds over-produced. Not surprisingly when he's spent like 10 years on it. I hope he never manages to release the album as it will make my specialist line of Chinese Democracy jokes redundant. Axl is my hero. I'd love to be so obviously bat shit crazy and yet get away with it.

I watched him play at Roskilde Festival a couple of years ago. It was so confusing.

First off he came on stage an hour and a half later than he was supposed to. That pissed everyone off because no-one pays for the beer at the beer tents, they just bring their own sawed off two liter bottles filled with beer or wine. That was all gone by the time he arrived. Everyone was mildly drunk or completely fucked in half but still thirsty.

Then he actually gives an amazing performance and as a person who's never been that crazy about G&R I was very impressed. That lastet two numbers. Then he took a fifteen minute break. This more or less went on for two hours. One or two great songs where Axel really kicks it, then a break. It was weird because the music was awesome, there was just no flow and Axel was obviously too old or too out of shape to do a full concert.

Also he looked like shit but that is to be expected.

given the wait and rumoured 15million$ budget i'm suitably underwhelmed by axl's latest offering.
will prolly still buy the album if it released though
