They're different books from what Erikson has otherwise written. They're small novellas. They come off a bit odd and the world seems a bit stranger than what we normally observe.
But they lend a lot of new insight into the universe. Geography, magic, the pantheon, civilization, etc.
And of course, if you loved KB and B in MoI, you hav eto have them.

Yes they are good. I got a nice small hardback of the collected stories from Amazon - they're a bit 'lighter', but good fillers while you're waiting for the next big installment.
They do seem a bit removed from other events, but give the malaz world more depth - there are also occasional references to more familiar characters eg Graymane.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

I just placed an order for the collected stories on amazon.co.uk. I bought the only decently priced one but it's temporarily out of stock. Any idea when or if it will ever come in stock? Or should I cancel my order and go for the $100 import on amazon.com?

A hundred dollars for the three books sounds a bit expensive to me.
But of course if you're strapped with cash and you're a dieheard fan, then by all means.

Money's not too much of an issue for me, but I'm just not sure what to expect. I ordered from a large seller on amazon. Are they still printing this book? Do you think it will EVER become available? If I think it will be availble in the next week or two I'll wait; if not I"d rather just buy the $100 book.

Ok, I didn't knew that they where released as collected stories.
Last time that I checked the local bookstore where I had ordered most of my Steven Erikson books, they told me that Blood Follows was in a reprint and they weren't sure when it would be released again.
Gonna step by there again tomorrow and ask for the collected stories and otherwise that link up here might be interesting too, altho I don't have much experiance with this kind of on-line shopping.

Just got it in the mail. Why is LoLE in the middle if it was published last? Is it chronologically second? Recommended reading order?
