We have gone to the 24/7 vet once before with Whiskeyjack - he came inside dragging his legs before collapsing. He couldn't stand up and he had blood all over him. Turns out he had 20 bites and a massive tear on his back leg. He was also covered in sand so I think he must have walked home all the way from the golf course. I totally freaked out and took him straight there - it cost a fortune but the vet said if we hadn't brought him in when we did he probably wouldn't have made it. It was funny to see him doped up on horse tranquilisers for a week - he'd try to walk and then fall over. I once went in the bathroom to check on him and he was sitting in the corner talking to the wall

The vet was also a Malazan fan

I can't figure it out - I thought maybe card capture sakura because there is a character called yui thought I think it's spelt yue. As for Nishidake the only thing I can think of is SSX. So I fear I have no bloody idea

I am prouder then I should be that I was right about two of the names I never liked Neon Genesis - too many looooong meaningful looks back and forth. I mean, the whole train station scene - five minutes of to and fro-ing with no dialogue of change in picture *YAWN* The overall arching story is good but it is just too boring for me to watch.

Yeah, in the original Eva run the Gainax "cost-saving" tactics meant reused footage (that shot of Misato drinking her beer while goofing off with Shinji was used like 20 times) and the train sequence, not to mention the escalator-into-Nerv HQ shots where nothing moved and dialogue heavyness weighed down...was tedious.

That said, If I can recommend the new rebuild movie versions they are doing (simplifying the story and dialogue, adding new characters) if only because beyond being awesome they have redone ALL the animation and it looks gorgeous and there are little to no re-used, static dialogue shots. First movie here second movie here the other two films have not yet come out here..though I think the 3rd one may be out in Japan. They are well worth it. The new versions use different cuts and dialogue and the whole shebang makes OODLES more sense.

Indeed, and it will only require the amount of time you take to watch 4 movies instead of 26 episodes of a TV show. You can get the first one on DVD/BluRay and the second should be avail. soon. Or you could DL it.

I also fell out of my anime phase as well, but this was too good to pass up and so it's probably the only one I'll still give quarter to.

My roommate and I spent all of today hanging out with a couple of our friends, and one new person, and must have been on his goddamned period because he for some reason COULD NOT STAND new girl.

There's one obvious reason to not like her, she corrected him, repeatedly, about languages (he's a linguistics major), because she speaks 7 of them, fluently.
I found her interesting and totally jovial, but we got back home and he just WHINED AND WHINED AND WHINED. And I can't tell him to shut the fuck up because he's so goddamned sensitive he'd passive-aggressive me into the floor.

I want to smack that kid sometimes.

Mr first real girlfriend just died of a heroin overdose. We haven't spoken in years, other than a brief facebook exchange about a year ago where I found out she had an addiction. She has kids, just got out of rehab. It's messed up remembering the teenager I knew her as, and then thinking of how her life went from that point on. I am so sick of hearing about people from my hometown dying this way. It's a popular small-town drug, easily available and attractive to the people who fall into the small town trap of never leaving after high school.

Shit's sad, but like I said, we weren't close so no one needs worry about me. Still though, damn.
