How about being on military duty and knowing that you're bound to be woke up by some old lady at 1:30 am trying to find her son but not knowing where he's stationed or having a clue what his job is after you got to sleep 30 minutes ago because some drunken jackass decided to cause a domestic disturbance with his wife but she's too stupid to press charges. Yep, something very similar to that happens to me about every other week.

I got told by my boss that he appreciates personal initiative and visionary employees who ask questions and offer critique, asked and unasked, then, in the same breath, he tells me that I should check everything I want to do with him before I invest time in it, and that I should accept the company's policies such as they are and not try to add anything to them, or offer arguments against them.

How contradictory can one get? So, I now sit behind my desk, zipping my lips, waiting for orders, despite being an academic in an advisory position. I'm going to have to apply elsewhere - crisis or no crisis, this just doesn't do :D.

Just got my utility bills, the 4 of us owe £125 each. Ouch. The timer for the central heating was broken for ages and the landlady insisted the heating was left on during the month long holidays, so we're gonna try claim some money off her to help with the bill, but still, ouchies. And Im not optimistic, as she hasnt replaced the 2nd fridge in a YEAR, and the shower is still broken despite complaints so that we have to have baths. But then again, one of the guys owes 4 months backrent and I possibly owe some but am not sure, so dont wanna push it.

I have almost nothing to do at work, but can't say anything or they might not extend my contract, which I only have a month left of.

Work is shit, and I'm taking the flack for other people not doing their jobs properly.

I am so close to walking out, but there are no jobs about at the moment. I'm going to end up belting someone.

Now I'm regretting that I haven't had any pie today.

Is it a rabbit pie? I have a rabbit pie. It's nice.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

The American kind and it was Caramel, Apple and Walnut flavour. I think it might be my first ever taste of real American pie actually! The boss brings stuff in for us every day and my desk is right by the place where all the goodies get left. He's killing me!

EDIT - and I suppose if eating too much pie is about the worst thing to have happened to me today, I am having a pretty successful day so far :D

I mentioned something similar to him earlier. He said "Just think of it as going back healthier"......I will need 2 seats, one for each cheek.

My darling daughter woke up at 4am this morning, little pukester wailed for an hour then went back to sleep with a look of such serene contentment I had to smile.
I woke up at 8.05, half an hour late for my lift to a fascinating training day of Transactional analysis and Edward De Bono type mentalness.
To be fair it was quite interesting up until the point where I fell asleep and a colleague flicked my ear.
I made a Mwuueehh type noise and everyone laughed at me.
I pee'd on my shoe.
I spent the rest of the day in a fugue like state, taking in absolutley nothing of what was apparently a really good training session ( as you may know, these are rare).
I returned home to discover my beloved, berating the dog who had shat on the kitchen floor.
I cleaned up the doggy doo. :D
Am now really tired and cannot sleep.
From 9am I am on-call for the next 24hrs, deep joy.

I did however just eat 2 chocolate eclairs, every cloud eh?
Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.
Just look at em' now, already pullin' the plow. So quick to take to grain, like some old mule.

ARGH! My stupid frickin flat mate is pissing me off. She isn't even doing anything but I'm sick of her wandering into the room I am in, refusing to make eye contact and scurrying around like some timid bloody mongy gimpoid. If you are that goddamned shy, become a hermit and STAY OUT OF MY WAY!!!!

I hate people. I might become a terrorist.

Or not. I will just sit around complaining about them but being nice to their face instead. It is on the same spectrum as terrorism, just a much milder form.

HA!

I had a roommate who used to walk in a room and then stand behind me, while I was sitting in a chair watching t.v., for like 15 minutes at a time, saying nothing. Just hovering right behind me. Creeped me out so I dubbed him "The Hoverer".
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I have dubbed this one "Annoying Mong Face". She is a shedder as well, I'm sick of unclogging the plugholes.

Ewwww. One thing I don't miss when in my own shower as opposed to a lady friend's.
