My girlfriend broke up with me and moved out 2 weeks ago, talked to her last night and not only is she tryng to blame everything on me, it sounds like she is seeing someone already. Everything is F#*$ed up right now. FML.

It gets better, no trains are going for the next three hours because someone decided jumping in front of a train was the very best way to end his life. Yeah, I'm heartlessly selfish.....
.....But so was that guy (edit: it is the most travelled track in the country in a passenger per day rate, and at this particular station, there's a very good chance quite a few people saw the accident to boot - and that is something you do not want to see).
Something like that happened to me as well, only -err- the other way around. I managed to jump on the wrong train at Stoke-on-Trent, so instead of going back to Liverpool by Stafford, I ended up on the direct line down to London. "Luckily" a chap inadvertently intervened for me, so I managed to get off at Rugby. Got to talking to one of them conductor fellows, and he said that it's quite common for people to kill themselves by jumping in front of the train. I can't remember the statistics now, but I remember being surprised at how many it was. At least a few of them each month.
On topic: I seem clinically deprived of worth ethics. I suspect alien abduction and testing. I hope they didn't go through my ass to get to the work ethics centre in my brain.

Borrowed some books from the library last week. Didn't realise a couple of them were two day loans. Came in this morning to find out I've been barred from borrowing books for a week, despite paying the (absolutely ludicrous) fine as soon as I realised. Sprinkling on the bacon bits of this suck salad is the fact I have 3 major assignments due in 3 days, with stuff from the library I still need to get. Balls.

I'm at a conference (literally right now - pretending to be busy on my blackberry is more fun than networking) costing $2000 to attend and they don't even provide nibbles during the coffee break! Have you ever heard anything so uncouth?

If it's a larger conference I'm not surprised. For most of the conferences I've attended they give you lunch and coffee breaks, in which you are supposed to dash out and buy your own cup of tea or lunch. Some of the smaller ones do provide snacks or coffee, but that's about it. Half the time I wonder what I've forked over thousands for exactly, especially when the conference is a waste of time. I guess they look at it as most of your fee goes towards the cost of paying guest speakers/presenters and renting the venue or whatever. $2000's not bad actually fee wise, the prices are going up for those things all the time.

Its only a little one, 400 delegates. Even the 3000+ delegate ones I've been to manage a bagel in the morning or there are at least pharma companies trying to bribe you with chocolate. Makes you wonder how much the invited speakers are getting paid!

Well, to be completely honest, SOME measure of a society's elite should be maintained. That it should not be hereditary is another matter.
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; because there is not effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deed; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotion, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. Pushing around really sucks if you're on the receiving side, I'll drink to that.
Then again pushing people around is the best way to get shit done. Influence (and information) is power. Perhaps, however, they could learn that treating you with respect would have better results.

Whats messing with my groove is a good friend has Leukemia and it doesn't seem like there's much the doctors can do any more. Just have to keep up faith that he will recover.

Well this morning my friend Jon died after a 2 year + battle with cancer. It hasn't really sunk in yet and now I have to go to work. I think once it hits it's gonna hit hard, but my prayers are constantly with his family who are also all good friends of mine.
Thankfully we all have faith and know that he is having a right good party up in heaven now, so it's all good.
