Not the video that is groove messing, but the comments section below it. Every argument that you've ever heard about girls not being harassed online, or that sexism isn't a thing any more, all get thrown out the window from the first five comments.
Seriously. There is a woman. She looks like a woman. But somehow this merits multiple comments on the fact and some rather sad individuals talking about how much they would like to fuck her. On a laptop review. On a tech channel.
Even one of the comments pointing this out and saying how stupid the comments are, cannot resist a comment on her appearance either! (in this case, calling her 'average' - presumably to insult the people going crazy about her, but unfortunately still missing the goddamn point!)

Ugh.

Oh, sure, this is nothing new. Which is hardly the point. But this was particularly frustrating to me because 1) it hasn't been a huge issue on this channel before, and 2) there's been a bunch of stuff flare up over the whole Gamergate thing recently, making this a timely reminder that even if you're not Anita Sarkeesian, being a woman automatically entails being objectified and harassed online. And that is fucking bullshit.

So, you know, forgive me for being annoyed at something which is "normal", Macros.

@Apt - I know, right? Though to be fair, the smallest version of that laptop has pretty high-end specs, and while you could definitely get a more powerful desktop for less cash, it'd be pretty hard to find a comparable laptop, especially in that form factor, for significantly less.

Not excusing any of the misogynistic vileness, but I have found that Youtube in particular is an absolute cesspool. Frankly I am always surprised when I find some sane, complimentary or constructive comments.

All good Maccy, it was mostly annoying because it comes across as dismissive, but I know having a hang over can do that to you. XD

Someone at work has swiped the box of good tissues I brought from home straight off my desk.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

I put it as deep into my cubicle as it was reasonably possible. The Swiper didn't just do a quick fly by. The person had to have gone into there specifically for this box. I will enact covert scans, although what I'll do if it's within a higher up's office is unknown as of this writing.

Next step, replacing it and putting that in a drawer, so that it stays.

At least the good pens I brought have not gone walkabout...

If they stole your tissues would they not be the Wiper...not the Swiper?

Write your name on the box and take a picture on your smartphone. Then they'll have to explain why they either have your tissue box or a box suspiciously defaced exactly where you wrote on it.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Someone (on the Malazan fb page) said the Redemption of Althalus was 'a joy to read'

I just can't tell if they are trolling or not

Tissue theft is a serious issue. It is not to be sniffed at.

People who think it's freaking okay to translate shit word-by-word from English into Farsi and put it in their academic papers.

I wouldn't mind so much, except my dad has a lot of friends, all of whom want to publish papers in English-language journals (cause it's needed of they want to make full professor). None of them can write worth shit, so I'm saddled with translating their crappy writing. Except that their Farsi grammar is so bad I have to go through the trouble of finding the English articles they're plagiarizing just to understand what the fuck they meant to write.

And these people are treating actual, live patients in Iran.

Oh oh oh, and when I tell them they're plagiarizing they ask what's wrong with that.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.
