Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I also had forgotten it was St. Patty's yesterday and noticed it when I went out to get my haircut...and had to deal with all the drunken folks stumbling about on a Thursday night. I would wager there are more than a few hangovers across the globe this morning.

I'm fine.

Also not Irish and too old and boring for St Patrick's day to mean anything other than being jealous of friends in Ireland who have a day off work.

Worst day at work ever.
Period.

Hungover at a waste treatment plant, get a call from the contracts manager, wants a favour, I say ok, he then proceeds to tell me about a conveyor he shut down the other day and couldn't get restarted, its fucked, so he put in a few bins to catch the .....stuff coming out.
They needed emptied.

Literally using a garden grape to lift poop, mixed with loo roll, tampons, condoms and unfortunately no goldfish or tortoises, into a chute, to let it slide into a skip.

Whilst hungover.
And this is not my fucking job.

Fuck Patrick, (contracts managers name is actually Patrick) and St patrick too.

Went in to my local to watch the match last night. Full of drunken arseholes, shouting to "put some irish music on!" Instead of the commentary.

We drink in that bar all year round, and watch the football there every week. Fuck off you tourists

Sounds like you've had like the worst day man. I'd go back to your place, get some good eats and shut the world off for a bit and recoop.

Also, your waste treatment story...that literally IS the worst thing I've ever heard of someone having to do. Fuck Patrick indeed.

Yeah, why the hell would he even ask you to do that? That's like asking me to fill a shift at the cafeteria.

IF you'd ever been to a municipal treatment plant, you'd realize that Macros has just survived one of the Top 5 Worst Days of his life.
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

Its not something that's supposed to be happening, he was supposed to have this whole place fully operational by now. Im tempted to take a picture of the now empty but slowly refilling bins.

This story: https://www.washingt...bed-police-say/
A man poured boiling water on a sleeping gay couple who'd gone to bed after work. Images are graphic w/ wounds, but they're not at the top if you wanna click and get a sense of things. Happened in Georgia. The other element that got to me, aside from the act, is that Georgia used to have a hate crime law, but it was struck down ~12 years ago by a court. Unclear to me why it didn't go on to a higher court from there. Anyway, the guy who did it was the boyfriend of one of the couple's mother. His explanation:
“They were stuck together like two hot dogs … so I poured a little hot water on them and help them out,” he said to police, according to the incident report. “… They’ll be alright. It was just a little hot water.”
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Welp, someone has just gone straight to the top of the 'needs to die slowly' list. That's just fucking sick. :S

I'm not gonna go on an extended rant about it, but the hate crime nullification thing really bothers me. The main critique against hate crime laws is that they police people's thoughts and beliefs, punishing opinions on top of criminal behavior. If an assault is already illegal, they argue, what does it matter why it was done? Some conservatives, moderates, libertarians, and even liberals believe in that logic. But I'd argue if you believe that crimes can be committed against communities or society -- if you can separate a murder from terrorism, for instance, because the implication reaches further than the direct victims -- then hate crime laws make the same sense for basically the same reasons. There's a direct victimization component and a broader threat component, and both do actual real world damage. The threat is more than an opinion just as an assault is more than an opinion, and threats aren't protected speech even in the US (I know some countries actually have hate speech laws, which I wouldn't call for). I think most people see that reasoning though -- and only 5 out of 50 states don't have hate crime laws, but Georgia is the only one that has had them and had them overturned by a state court. There are federal hate crime laws though and I hope this makes it to that level.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.
