I'm opening myself up to nasty replies but dammit a gum ulcer is giving me nine kinds of hell this week. I haven't had one in like 2 yrs so this one just feels aweful and why do humans constantly feel the unconscious need to bite them? It doesn't help heal and I find myself gnawing on it drawing blood... Grr
Chewing or biting that will only make it worse. If you are getting a lot of ulcers, you may have a vitamin C deficiency. Been eating any fruits lately?
Fruit could be contributing towards them (slightly). I notice that if I eat a lot of sugars in a day (compared to a normal day's intake), they spring up everywhere. Fruit isn't much fun then.
As a preventative, seems like a good idea. Get in those four fruits and six veg a day.
This. ^^
I get them when I OVERINDULGE in Citrus or fruit in general.
And BK, I had one for a week last week, so you are not alone. According to my sister-in-law who is in the health industry, you can get them if your body is fighting off a virus as well. But I am pretty sure this time it was the excessive fruit I was eating (and drinking; Apple juice).
