I have been really busy recently with my best friends wedding. It was huge and complicated and tiring, and as a result I am really behind on my work. In fact I am anticipating a real hard time from my supervisor.

Had an online argument with a random interwebs person about women writers in the comic industry.

Basically, her stance was that women should be encourage to write both male and female characters (which I agree with) but that only women should write female characters as men can't write them 'authentically' (ugh).

Pointed out that her stance wasn't in-line with feminism by her definition (equality for men and women) and she totally went down the whole 'you can't see pass your own privilege blah blah you wouldn't say that if you knew what it was like to be female blah blah blah' road.

Hypocrites who refuse to acknowledge their double standards are messing with my groove.

Severely fatigued for an unknown reason for the 4th day now. I had a bit of a runny nose on friday and saturday but that's it. No fever or body aches or whatever. I'm just mostly pumped out of energy.
Bad food? Starting with too much excercise (went from completely nothing to 5 afternoons a week straight away) too fast? Sleep deprivation? Screen fatigue?

Whatever it is, I really need my strength on thursday's job interview...

Have you increased your intake of protein? Lack of protein when excercising can make you feel that way. At least that's how it worked for me.

I bet she just loves the patriarchy. People like that are why I stay away from that entire debate, for the most part.

Gothos - what's you're current diet like? Give me a rough idea of what you eat over the course of a day, what your exercise entails and I can probably give you an idea of how you can improve your energy levels. I can almost guarantee it'll be dietary and easy enough to fix.

For excercise, it's nothing fancy - just a short jog (for my rather limited capabilities right now it's still enough to tire me out though), then machines: a stepper, elliptical/or/cross skier, a very simple rower, and a "chair" lifting with both a pushing (upwards) and pulling (downwards - sooooo much easier) mechanisms. Also a pendulum and a spin-ny thingie. All in all not more than 90-100 minutes total, outdoors.

For food, I haven't modified my intake at all. It's a pack of rice cakes over my work day, with white yoghurt and apples for lunch, then an afternoon meal with soup after work (whatever they happen to be serving at the place that day). Excercise comes about 2 hours after the meal (so it's not right after I eat but also so I can squeeze it in before it gets dark).

Truth be told all I want from this is some upper body strength, dropping my belly tyre at least a bit and making my respiratory and bloodstream more used to moving a lot before my holidays at the end of june (so I can actually survive 10-12 hour hikes). I'm not sure if this will even help me all that much but it's better than nothing I guess.

It sounds like you're getting very little protein. I hope you're not one of those vege-ma-tarians... For meals, my recommendation would be 3 eggs and half a tin of beans or some toast for breakfast, for lunch some form of lean meat with three veg (one needs to be green), and for dinner, lean meat with broccoli. For snacks, fruit and nuts are good. Whey protein is also helpful as a snack/meal replacement.

As to your goals - not too difficult. As a beginner you'll gain strength quickly, however your diet will play a big factor in the results. A few tweaks to bring your P/C/F ratio into bear will also improve energy levels. I would use a BMR calculator to work out your resting calories and then go from there.

In addition to food, there's something of a lag in adjustment to increased energy levels.

For me, it's about three weeks. That's also around the time you start noticing results in the mirror. Tracking physical results by taking a selfie every three to four weeks is a really good idea, as we can't really notice much of a difference in daily life.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

What's so bad about that? Just not an Austen fan? It's short and pretty readable, quite a good choice compared to something like Dickens or Orwell imo. Like all books with satirical elements it's more enjoyable if you've read the books it's satirising though, so it's a bit of an odd choice in that regard.

We in India are more or less ok. Its the Nepalese I am worried about. Bad weather, a seriously messed up supply and logistical situation, coping with destroyed infrastructure etc. Amphibian can probably tell you better though. he has family in Nepal.

Damn two handed hammer drill. The bit hung in the 1/4" plate I was drilling through. I thinks I broke a finger. And it's not even the one that's going to lose a nail. Bah. Trace feeling is nice but not when it impedes damage assessment.

On the upside, the sawtooth blade I added to the front loader is a beast. It went right through a root like it was butter.

Just not much of an Austen fan. Never have been really. Its not too bad a read, as you said it is quite short, but its just got me pissed because it has interrupted another book I was reading. Not a fan of Orwell? I love his work.
