I don't think so. They test your iron levels before they let you donate, hence the finger prick. I have suspected I might be before so I'm experimenting on myself with vitamin B dietary supplement. I don't believe dietary supplements work but I'm giving them a go anyway. No change as of about 3 weeks of taking them so either they don't work or I do not have a vitamin B deficiency.

I have had that happen to me once as well... i have given blood a bunch of times and once after giving blood i did some shopping. Whilst walking home i noticed that the cotton wool was kinda soaked through and was dripping down my arm. It was only the one time and i have given blood after that with no problems. I blame the youth of today with their pacman video games and hula hoops.

That sucks Mez :( Hope this doesn't happen again, donating blood is fraught enough without bleeding over the magazines :(

Groove is messed because I started writing some poetry that was fairly good but then it just dragged out and I started feeling shit about the whole thing. Rage.

Someone keeps sending me anonymous messages via Tumblr condemning me as a "white knight" who pretends to support women's rights/feminism but is really only in it for instant gratification. I know this isn't true, and this person isn't so righteous as to come off anon and face me directly, but it's just making me feel pretty blue. Also, they said I've made people feel uncomfortable or upset, and now I'm stressing out if there's any truth to these rumours. Blerghhhhh.

99% of those using the phrase "white knight" as a descriptor do not understand enough of what they are talking about that you need to give any credence to. This person is more than likely a "romantic rival" or weird theater person who wants to make you feel bad, rather than a person who is working to advance women's rights or any social issue.

So the solution is to note that this feedback exists, suss it out for anything you need to change (possibly sexist jokes made in passing) and then discard and ignore.

My groove is messed with because of my significant other. She's bouncing back and forth between extremes due to an unusual amount of stress and is taking that out on me, without admitting that she's doing so. It's rough, yo.

I agree with what amphibian is saying about this too, having followed those truly trying to support women's rights and feminism - they would actually tell you off-anon if you did something bad/wrong/whatever. As for the rumors, meh, just check it out, see if it's true by simply asking respectfully, and otherwise don't worry about it.

Just realised the time. Tomorrow grows closer which means work. I've had such a good weekend. Today alone my wife and I have watched Lady and the Tramp, The Sound of Music and Pinocchio. I've played Dark Souls and beat the Gaping Dragon. Had plenty of snacks and us time. So tomorrow cannot come slow enough. I wish for more time.

Yeah, the mental part is definite BS, and even the physical aspect honestly - people over-emphasize the differences in physical strength between the sexes.

Additionally, the "argument" presented is something along the lines of "we've had very few women drivers, but of the ones we have had, they barely score any points." Uh... well, maybe if you had more, you would see a bigger selection of point-winners??? DUH? Like, look at all the men drivers - plenty of them suck, but there's a much bigger pool of them, so then you're going to have a top 10 who are really good. So there's been a shit ton of men drivers who barely score any points too.

It's just. ARGH.
