While I tend to agree with you in principle, being financially responsible I am unable to justify the purchasing of a desktop computer (which I don't really have anywhere to put, regardless) purely for gaming and I need portability, thus laptop.

I'd probably describe up with something along the lines of;
The opposite direction (relative to you) to that which you would fall were you "on" something with sufficient gravitational pull to make you "fall". If you have a standard orientation when in such an environment, then work out which direction in relation to yourself you would usually fall from, and that direction is generally referred to as "up" for you.

Frankly, I think a lot of people feel like that, some can deal with it better than others though. Some turn to religion for answers. In any case: Stormy, ask yourself honestly: Do you think you suffer from a depression? It's normal to go through times like this, but if it is serious, has been going on for a long time, go see somebody, as Worry suggests. Bear in mind that drugs temporarily alleviate symptoms only and have addictive potential too. But there are others more qualified members here, any suggestions?

This is the cooling pad that I use from Zalman, I bought it a few years ago for my old 17 inch Toshiba laptop, but it also works fine for my current 15,6 inch Asus N56VZ.

My brother uses a smaller version for his laptop.

Must say that I hardly use my desktop pc since I've bought my new laptop a few months back, while it won't run the newest games smooth on ultra settings, it runs them great on good settings.

Got new phone, Vodafone site is down so I can't port my old number across, Zune software refuses to install so I can't put my music on the phone, there's no debit card interface for the free 30 day unlimited music download thing via Xbox Live and I don't want or have a credit card so all in all my new phone can go triply fuck itself.

Ahh. That's a deficiency in my definition: external markers and gravity. Trouble with this, though, is the relativity of the term "up." Say you're head down in a pool looking at a map. Up relative your surroundings would be from head to feet. But up on the map it would still be feet to head. A more complete definition should probably be a mix of the two.

And Yog-Sothoth is outside time and space (yet still immanent to every point of it in some way or another), making explaining "up" very much like explaining colour to a blind person. I can't remember who it was (Kant?) that said space and time was integral to our our understanding of everything. I suppose it's hubris to think we'd solve something like that on a forum dedicated to a fantasy book series, but hey, I do like my sinning!

Have group presentations tomorrow morning and no one other than me has their work completed. Now I will have to wake up 3 hours eariler just so eveyone can bring their frakken work and we can have fun scrambling and placing work into the presentation. Fuck. I specifically said I want ppl to be completed today night so we don't have to do this shit again. I hate hurrying. Also importing/exporting digital files ALWAYS takes longer than it should and there's always problems.

The weirdest things make you hungry, GH. I for one am saddened by the news BK mentions. It's apparently the second-worst such event, at least in the modern US. The pictures, naturally of people crying including confused little kids, are pretty heart-rending.
