My house is surrounded by energex trucks - they are replacing the powerpole/telegraph pole in front of my house. This is annoying for a few reasons - constant loud noises, my driveway isn't accessible, every one of the guys thought that my sitting out front was an invite to call me 'darl' and/or 'gorgeous' (I was sitting outside watching my turtles - they need UV everyday), Kalam got freaked out by the truck being lowered and ran straight down the stormdrain and hasn't returned but worst of all I'm going to have NO ELECTRICITY all of tomorrow which means no Xbox, no internet, no TV, no PC, no aircon and NO WATER! My house is raised and it's an electric pump that moves the water.......I'm going to be hot, smelly, sticky and bored tomorrow :)

GF's been running two teaching jobs but will have to drop one due to times not corellating now. Which means we'll probably not wreck another EU city and I'll have to haul my ass over to that barbaric country to visit, which is worse. Still desirable, of course, and it does converge on my own plans somewhat. Nevertheless, messing with my groove a bit.
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; because there is not effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deed; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotion, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.

Tis the season for elderly relatives passing on it seems. We had a phone call early this morning to say Mr PigDogs aunt had died. Very sad. Even worse is that it comes on top of a good friend being told the cancer that she hoped to get the all clear from has spread elsewhere. She's only 34 and she's always so cheerful and upbeat about it. She has 6 months of treatment ahead but is insistent on keeping up with her daily life (and needs to financially) so has arranged chemo over the weekends so that she is well enough for work during the week.

Ah man, that's so sucky...it seems like 34 is an age where life should really just be getting into its stride. Much love and hugs to Mr PigDogs' aunt, your friend and to Illy as well. :) Hopefully the rest of the year will be better. xxxx
