I thought it was Poleil and Soleil, there were textual hints to ascertain thus. I agree with Abyss and Morgoth - it was great fun when he tried to attack B&KB in BF. I dunno who that other chap was though, the warrior guy who was always at the scene of the crime.
Also who were the two rat catchers? B&KB seemed a bit afraid of them, and I never really got it...

Spirits of pretty strong power I imagine.. The perhaps original dwellers of the barrow.. *shrugs* Unless someone noticed something I missed, I doubt there's any strong hints as to their origins and nature

I think as Morgoth, they were dwellers in one of the barrows, one of the very few powerful spirits - i think they say it pretty clearly

Yah, it was implied from the start that there were all kinds of things in the barrows in LMoll. I took their story to be that most of the spirits escaped by possessing rats, while the Ratcatchers waited and got human bodies. Hence, the eating rats bit has a few contexts (How are his food tasters doing? I'd say they're done to perfection!' heehee...), as in they are eating the other spirits...

The bounty hunter dude was implied to be hunting B&KB for a while, but we didn't really get his story.

Guld the investigator was great tho'.

I assumed it was Soleil and Poleil too. They're known to be worshipped by humans, while the Tiste sisters are not, it seems that humans haven't even heard of them. Can't remember any clear evidence to prove that, it just seemed a good fit.

(my above comment re Drek aka Poliel is clearly undone by revelations in TB - they are obviously not the same god/dess, so ixnay on that idea)

In light of RG's revelations re the human/tiste connection, it's not unthinkable that it is in fact the Dawn/Dapple/Dusk sisters. Unlikely, especially given how overtly 'human' the MS was, but still, not unthinkable. Or even Envy and Spite on that basis.

Soliel being a goddess of healing and Poliel being a goddess of illness, one could see how the worship would be linked. Makes sense from a vulnerability standpoint too, if each sister is only half as invested as a god might otherwise be in a human representative.

There was also something about Poliel somewhere, but I can't find it right now. Those two are obviously important gods in Moll (if not all of Theft). Add to that the fact that Soliel is specifically refered to as Sister Soliel, ...

And here, the Sisters and Health and Plague (capitalized and everything). I think the Sisters being Soliel and Poliel is as clear as can be without saying it outright.

This pretty much states outright that the two rat catchers had previously been in the Knoll Barrow, and that all of the other barrows are empty because all of the other beings had already escaped.
