Oh yeah, well there is that. Well, if

, then Karsa could very well have to kill her. Hood is gone now, and was the staunchest opponent to the CG, so it seems fitting that, while not being able to manipulate the CG's demise himself,

Hmm after a long read heres my POV

several points are unassailable. Karsa vowed to kill a God. Karsa is asked (hitman style) )to stay in darujhistan possibly to achieve this. Karsa is to lead his army at some point against something to do with the civilized world but this possibly happens after the whole god killing mess.

Okay lets look first at location. Karsa is in darujhistan with K'rul, Brood and Hood relatively close. Imo this saves the first twos asses. why would karsa have to wait in darujhistan if k'rul and brood (Denier God in his own right) are already based there? he would be asked to hunt them down instead of wait I think. as for Hood he is a co-contractor of karsas God-hitlist and dont think he wants to die just yet.

Now if we widen the search interesting things occur. The redeemer is close by as are the Andii and clip (dying god in tow). I doubt the redeemer would be an issue for karsa to deal with, he is more or less on the same side as the war gods but I do feel clip could easily try something stupid...HE is possesed by BELURDAN SKULLCRUSHER after all...the same dude known as kin to the toblakai with oodles of power in reserve, a fallen toblakai infact. Karsa would have major issues with such a creature so he is my First runner up.

Next point would be to see who both Karsa and said contractors all hate? why the CG ofcourse. not because he is particularily evil, just coz he is a problem that needs to be solved, nuff said. Why the CG would suddenly pop up in Darujhistan (where K'rul and the likeare) is any ones guess. That one karsa would have to hunt I think so not on my list of probable causes.

Lastly I have to look at Darujhistans history. as the site of the "hit" I would strongly believe it would be linked to the nature of the God Karsa must kill. We all know that the Tyrants represent the worst civilization has to offer so karsas in there. we also know that the War Gods have a peeve for the undead and ineffable cruelty. wolf God reached out to Toc younger during his matron moments, almost shared his plight etc. Now if the Tyrant is a seguleh (big wow) if the tyrant is a mage seguleh (shaky ground) if the tyrant is a seguleh God however......

Well I could see much need of a karsa and possibly a brood. amoung other things. I am certain the tyrants are no pushovers. the situation on assail is murky to me as I have yet to read anything about it. There is a lot unexplained about this whole issue, too many what ifs about the nature of the Tyrant and its connection to seguleh (who have not yet been linked to a god but follow the daughters of draconus to the letter. funny that...)

I believe the tyrant is human and has power enough to rival the ones in assail.

My third runner up for Karsas hit contract is in my opinion a tyrant-god-thingy. someone everyone in darujhistan fears. someone the seguleh will follow, someone that the War gods feel is a threat. Seguleh first perhaps (the second is undead after all why cant the first be ascended?) That all said I put my second bet down on unknown God factor xxx aswell for various reasons that no known character even kallor seems to fit.

I think we need to remember when considering this who Karsa could kill.

Elder Gods are unkillable, so even though K'rul is weakened, I doubt Karsa has the power to kill him.
Same goes for the CG. Karsa isn't anything massively special power-wise, so if he could permanently end the CG, why wouldn't any one else. I don't think karsa has the power to kill the CG either.
Hood is a jaghut, possible Ruler of the Ice hold. I think he also has the power to kill Karsa.

So, I would guess a weaker god.

Oppon perhaps. Or maybe Fener since Fener is vulnerable, or perhaps the Redeemer, though he has some people who would likely defend him.

Ardata, thanks for the name (I do not have my book with me :p). I do not yet have RotCG so much of the latter discussion is black for me :p. I feel that she is evil because of all the illusions to spiders given to harrlo's bully (his name is escaping me as well). His hands were described as spidery at times, as well as other parts of him right before he was mean/evil/nasty to little harllo. Also the CG is anathema to Burn making her sick etc. Mappo got saved by Ardata and now is unable to travel through Burn. Is she (ardata) also anathema to burn? Is she within Karsa's power to kill? I think so.

As for QoD I know she is not a major player as of yet, and that there are only 2 books left so she might not be. We didn't know Kallor really well before this last book, then all of the sudden hes introduced and expounded upon pretty substantially. So it is within the realm of possibility.

I am very interested in hearing what you Malazan scholars think about some of my Ardata theories :p.
