Making me happy: the fact that I've just had a (well-deserved, honestly) two-day break from work (I normally do six days a week part-time, and have been doing full-time the same for the past two weeks hot off the heels of a ten-day run of my regular hours without any time off, with exams for uni coming on the last day of my full-time stuff @.@ and yes, I went straight from my morning exam to my work...), and I'm looking forward to a whopping 15 days off work starting next Tuesday. Go me! :p


Also, the people posting about not having jobs in the groove thread has made me much more grateful for my own present employment, and reminded me of the positive attitude towards my work I've let slip lately. Thanks guys (not to rub salt in the wound or anything, sorryyy)!

OK so I, once again, officially state that I do not understand women at all. After having a fight after which I thought I'm in serious trouble, now the gf apparently wants me even more. And figuratively growling and being an asshole once in a while is, apparently, sexy.


I should just stop trying to understand and just go with the flow.
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; because there is not effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deed; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotion, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.

The recovery process of my mom is going great.

Currently she may use one crutch now and put weight on the leg she had surgery on.

If all goes well she is allowed to walk completely without crutches in about 2 - 3 weeks and also will be allowed to drive again.

Until then

Sister won the local sports personality of the year award, its tea time, sitting in the Sunshine on my tea break, finishing up work at 5 today (that, depressingly, is my early finish) to go and watch the match and drink a beer. Also was chatting to Mal for bit last night


all in all, a considerably better weekend than the norm.
