Had a very good weekend with friends up North. watched tons of movies, played tons of pool, ate a lot of great food, drank liters upon liters of alcohol.

came home, and my New years' gift arrived in the mail in the meanwhile. Set up a powerline network for our home internet, my room finally has a a stable net connection. and, since I don't have 2 PCs competing for wireless signal, the second PC should have a more stable signal as well.

and best of all, I still got 4 days off before i'm back in school to enjoy life.

The holidays were great this year! ;) Most everyone who is 'away' flew home for an extended break and seeing them for the first time in almost a year was the bee's knees.

Those antics aside, Monday marks my 10 year anniversary of being a registered member of the forum (we won't count my lurker phase). Thank you all for the laughs and memories!

People seem to forget that the bullets have to come down somewhere, somewhen, after they've be blithely shot off for "shits and giggles". What happened to "never pull the trigger unless you're CERTAIN of your target, and know that there is nothing behind it that you don't want to hit"?

I don't know if this is making me happy. Puzzled, more than anything. Every night for the past several nights, I have dreamed about places and/or characters in The Wheel of Time. Just now, I had a dream about being at a party with a lot of people I knew from high school. At some point I left to go pick people up, then suddenly I was back with Nynaeve and Egwene. They sat down at a big table, then Lan made an announcement and proposed to her, and I gave her a big hug as she started crying.

This is especially weird because I have never once dreamed about Malazan.

My gf is awesome. Because I'm going to be flying overseas on my birthday she decided to give me my birthday present today. She's got quite a lot of money stashed away for a future deposit on a house, and so as a running joke I always tell her she should buy me extravagant things like a car whenever she asks what I would like for a gift. This morning she tells me that my present was sitting in the driveway and that I should go outside and get it. Alarmed that she'd actually taken me seriously and bought a car I went outside and instead found a small present, which turned out to be a model Aston Martin DB5 to complement the Bond 50th Anniversary Blu-Ray Boxset that she was holding behind her back.

Anyway, I thought it was very well done, and she had me going there for a second. ;)
