Thanks mang, forgot to check in this morning, went well! Ended up having to wait for a good 3.5 hours for meds so we went on an approximately ten mile walk around Wakefield. She's a bit wiped today but overall things are good.

Beating Citeh. Also beat Arsenal, Spurs and the Bin Dippers already this season. Haven't felt this happy about a Utd team in years.

Wife had gotten me tickets to see HARRY POTTER & THE CURSED CHILD for Xmas, but she was sick and unable to attend with me, so I took my adult niece at the last minute, but we found it wonderful. I own the book/script for it and found it "fine".....but the performance was much better, and the production.....the production itself was the most insane and expensive and excellent production I've ever attended in a stage play. Some of the ingenious things they do to affect the wizarding world were amazing. Really worth the cost.

TIL the Gadgetmobile from INSPECTOR GADGET was a slightly modified 1983 Toyota Supra.
That's hella cool.

I did not know that. Cool.
More widely known.

Amazing!
I always loved the Police Car design in that flick. It always felt like a softer, less grim dark version of the Spinner from BLADE RUNNER. Like out of all the cars that fly in BTTF2, the police car is the one that looks most like it SHOULD fly.
Sidebar someone bought the prop from the movie which had been restored to it's movie-look after it had been left to rot on a backlot for decades...for $50,000.

Because we were on holiday at the time, Mr Not a Blacksmith and I gave up early on in the scrabble for tickets to Peter Kay's tour. I don't remember doing it, but I must have set up a ticket alert for the Leeds dates at the time.
Popped up yesterday with last minute availability - so we're going to see him tonight!
Was it cheap? Nope. Is it the sort of one-off that's worth it? Yep!

Looked up some of his standup comedy on Youtube. Couldn't understand a word, but from the context clues he's very funny!
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Haha don't worry, I'm not sure how well his brand of humour travels within the UK, let alone overseas!

I know someone who managed to get tickets to see Peter Kay amidst the original chaos when they first came out and his aren't until 2025 so that's very good! Hope it's a good show!

Couple of people at work were the same!
It was very good, nicely nostalgic and fun. I dont think it was quite as good as his strongest stuff but thoroughly enjoyable.
Was just a touch disappointed with the number of references to "You can't say that any more, you'll be cancelled" that cropped up. The delivery was always joky and winking and maybe a couple of times would have been funny, but there were a few too many. I'd never have said he was the sort of comedian who likes to whinge about their supposed inability to say what they want (the Ricky Gervais and Jimmy Carr set, who as successful men feel oh so persecuted), so it felt a bit out of place. It didn't spoil the overall enjoyment though.

Yeah that "joke" is so played out now and it wasn't really that funny in the first place.

I am going to get a substantial raise in February retroactive to the beginning of the year. My boss surprised me with this one.
It is really cool to know I kick butt at work and this specific person (she's terrific) wants to pay the heck out of me.

What's a 'raise' in the context of work? I'm British and this concept is alien to me (naw, but grats though, it's always nice to get some validation for your effort).
On my part I joined another band who I subbed in for in November as their drummer decided to hang up sticks. We play antifascist black metal. Hi!

Bad: my workhorse crash cymbal died
Good: dad subbed me a bit to replace it. Found a comparable range from Roland Meinl that wasn't too bad and they're used quite extensively in professional settings as well - probably most famously by Megadeth's drummer - so I'm hopeful it's gonna become a new workhorse for me!
