And you are a lawyer... I don't suppose you're axtually an actor playing a lawyer in a hit drama called something like dresses?

My life is indeed like a costume drama, but mostly the costumes are neutral buttoned downs and a selection of five jackets in muted shades of blue, grey and more blue.

Congrats Morgoth. The wind's of change be a blowing.

My Anniversary edition of GotM is on its way! Not read it in some 10 years I think. Cannot find my old dog eared paperback copy anymore. Probably being eaten by moth's in a box somewhere. Still haven't read TCG. Maybe after a full series re-read. ^_^

There's a lot going on for sure :)

Rediscovered the forum (again). It's been great to have all the memories come back by going through threads. And after half a year of uncertainty my girlfriend's work permit finally came through this week. Posted Image

Kids were at grandmas last night and the wife was out of town.

I slept till 8! Had 2 cups of coffee while watching This Old House in peace.

Glorious Saturday morning.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

Awwww yeah! USA Men's National team beat Northern Ireland. First win over a Euro opponent in almost six years.

- Medal at this summer's Olympics.
- World Cup champs in 2022 in Qatar.

Too high expectations?

Growing season is upon us. Windowsill space is getting hard to come by as usual due to my abundance of seed trays. I still have half of my crop to sow. It's lame but growing stuff this time of years gives that feeling of better things to come. Needed more than ever this year.

I am not going to work tomorrow. I just worked 12 days straight because of how tight deadlines are, but tomorrow I am not going to work. It just sunk in. Wow, I am not working tomorrow. Feels great.

Sown the other half of my crop. 104 plants needing space indoors for the next month or so. Definitely need more windowsills.

It's so good to see the daily progress. Been lazy this year with seed trays, rescued some frogspawn from the pond though so we've got tadpoles to watch.
Amazing how a few degrees of warmth speeds up their growth.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Not in the slightest Tiste, far too polite about the English and alas most people here are less than complimentary about the eastern European nations.

Buuuuuut I get the gist everyone but the English, which I naturally agree with

My progress with cochlear implants is amazing. I can have phone conversations no problem. Find I am not really relying on captioning anymore on some TV programs, which is crazy. Listening to music, especially anything with distortion, is still a work in progress - but there is noticeable progress. Speech recognition test scores going from with hearing aids before surgery, day after turn on, one month and now three months were:
Easy test 14%-67%-95%-didn't bother with it, it was too easy for me
Hard test 8%-37%-78%-95%

The astounding part to me is that in quiet settings (work, audie's office, during testing, etc.) I don't need to make any conscious effort to understand most people now. I know I am making some extra effort, as days were I have lots of meetings I am mentally exhausted at the end of the day. But, nowhere near the amount of effort it took to speech read even three years ago before my hearing dove off again. Even in an ideal situation speech reading is really hard work, that I can just sit back and hear things instead is mind blowing.
