I heard it's not just a skin game...it's a skin adventure.

I've heard tell it's a SKIN EXPERIENCE.

It's a skinspiration!
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I got myself a safety razor, some soap and dug up my father's badger brush - which is older than I am.

I am now a convert to shaving the right way. Would even recommend for women and shaving legs, as it's so much better than the disposable cartridge method.

Kind of terrified of straight razors though. To do that cut-free and smoothly requires a degree of expertise/practice that I won't ever develop.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

I'm at a blues concert with Sarah ( intermission right now). It's pretty awesome. The music is fantastic, the beer is great, and every guy here would change places with me if they could.

I'm in bed after an exhausting week at work and happy about that fact, so you're okay.

Looking at my dog still panned out on the floor after his walk earlier. Couldn't take him for as long a walk as usual, but when we were walking back, a kid came by on a quad bike, and the dog tried to chase it around a lap of the field. He managed to keep up with it for half a lap, but eventually fell behind. A full lap is over a kilometer. By the time he got back to me, he was absolutely shattered.

It's great to see the excitement of a dog being able to run absolutely flat out. I knew he was fast, but bloody hell he gave the kid a shock that he kept up for so long.

Monty is a big Labradoodle BTW.

My hair is purple. This will probably be a statement somewhere in all of my posts, related or not, for the next week, as I am still super excited about it every morning I wake up.

I ALSO GOT A NEW BIKE. I've never owned one as an adult (my last bicycle was like.. when I was 10, haha), so yaaaaaaaaay. It's super cute and I desperately want to ride it around but it's gonna rain and I don't mean the pitter-patter kind, I mean the thunderstorm and flash flooding warnings.

"Officer, where is the body?"
"Good morning, sir, it's by the side of this road here. Young woman, mid-20s, white, and she's clinging to this bicycle."
"It is a very nice bicycle. She probably wanted to ride it around and wasn't willing to let it go when the floods swept her away."
"Sir.. are you saying she'd rather die with her bike than let go and possibly have lived?"
"Yup, definitely the case. Make a note of that in your report and have it on my desk by Monday."

In T-minus 3 1/2 days I'll be on a plane winging my way to "the continent" for a Mediterranean honeymoon. I can't properly explain the excitement. This is the longest vacation I've ever taken from work in the history of me working (two weeks at once). Very happy!

Nice, where are you going exactly? We had our honeymoon there on a Greek island in a 5 star hotel, it was awesome. Hope you have a great time.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

We are doing a cruise through the Mediterranean. We begin in Barcelona and move through about 10 places. Thanks, we are both really looking forward to it!

Started learning some tommy emmanuel.
Turns out some of it is quite learn-able.
Obviously some it is obscenely difficult, but I'm getting to grips with it.
Big pat on the back.

I read Skin Game in four hours straight, and it's half 4 in the morning. I also can't count or see colours anymore

Went to see my 5 year old nephew today, first time since he got his cochlear implant switched on yesterday.
He's doing really well, and seems to be in top form.
He's still got a few weeks of tweaking to go, but the team are really pleased with his progress.
I just can't believe how much of the whole thing he's just taken in his stride.
Kids can be so resiliant.

There's a few people on Twitter who are retweeting older tweets from conservative-types calling for doing anything to get Bergdahl back, followed by retweets of their more recent 180-degree turns in calling Obama a traitor etc. for getting him back. It's a fascinating, if not very surprising, juxtaposition.
https://twitter.com/MattBinder (the guy behind the Public Shaming blog, one of my very favorites)

Obviously there's lots of groove-messing type stuff on the subject (the image below among them, hidden cuz it's brutal in its stupidity and cruelty), but I like to focus on the positive. Like the glee one gets from watching these idiots show their true colors and implode on every issue under the sun.

Unfortunately, it's the Republican party line, and not solely just the usual bottom feeders of the Internet commentariat (not that I'm discounting extensive overlap between those two groups). But like I said, I like to look on the positive side. Washington D.C. is a coastal city, so soon enough it'll be under water.
