I like the Rhulad picture a lot.

I don't know about the Icarium picture. Looks more like Taralack Veed to me. The character looks very human, and while Jhags/Jaghut are humanoid I imagine them more beastial looking than this. I also think of Icarium as being broader. He's not as big a Mappo but he doesn't have problems chugging boulders around.

Gennerally I doubt any warrior who develops "natural" musculature like what you've drawn on his arms have a fotomodels waist like that. If you're building muscles by doing hard labor, which I have a feeling Icarium does more than practicing swordplay, he'd have a thick midsection. To put it in Bodybuilding terms he'd look more like Jay Cutler and Ronnie Coleman than Arnold Schwarzenneger and Frank Zhane if he was lifting heavy stuff all day. Or rather he'd look like a strong man and not a bodybuilder... but of course, I know you're keeping with a style here.

I really like them the drawing style, your technical ability and atmosphere are excellent. I'd venture a similar criticism to Apt on your anatomy though. It's only really with massive focus on certain types of weight training and diet that one can develop hugely muscled shoulders and such a slim waist, similar to the 6 pack on your older drawing of....coltaine? I think, it's unlikely that with the foodstuffs and exercise types available, not to mention limited knowledge of anatomy and diet that you'd be able to cultivate such a totally 'cut' physique in the Malazan universe. Even in the 50s and 60s on this planet it would have been uncommon to see abs and pecs etc on a guy, think how Charles Atlas looked compared to todays body builders, or compare an 70s or 80s style strong man to a Mariuz Pudzianowski.

Yeah, but it's fantasy. It's ok for all the women to be blindingly beautiful, and alll the men to be built like gods. Especially in the artwork.

I think...that is Icarium's evil, bloodthirsty twin.

Great job! Rhulad looks just as tortured as I imagined him.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

The look in Rhulad's eyes (or lack thereof, rather) is so haunting... Absolutely amazing! I like the Icarium pic, but not as Icarium... Someone's suggestion of Taralack Veed struck true to me though.

not sure how I missed this thread for so long

those are probably some of my favourite images I've seen from you I think, great linework and as mentioned Rhulads expression is brilliant. I like the Icarium concept, perhaps re-work the hair + a bit of a general broadening and it'd look sick too.

I echo the sentiments already put forward.
Rhulad is perhaps my favourite if all of your work and that is saying a lot as you gave me the Dancer gem.

Rhulad is awesome! That is amazing...

My only issue with Icarium is that...I mean...shouldn't he have tuskish things on his face? Like a Jhag?
