Greetings, diplomats from all over the continent! Ye come from every corner seeking one thing, domination! Alliances will be made, boken, re-made, betrayed. Mistakes will occur, misunderstandings will tear friends apart and make enemies allies. But one thing is certain, we shall all have a jolly good time!!

No really, who talks like that these days?

Here is the list of players:
Ayrin - England
Gavin - France
Jump Around - Spain
Obdigore - Germany
Morgoth - Italy
Imperial Historian/Tapper - Poland
drinksinbars - Russia
Thelomen Toblerone - Ukraine
Cause - Turkey
caladanbrood - Egypt

General guidelines:
Send your orders to this Adjudicator account prior to the deadline. To make sure I haven't cheated (!!) make sure to request a read receipt your PM. If you send in provisional orders but need to change them later, DON'T PANIC! just send in a new PM - I will only take the most recent PM as the orders you want.
Make sure your orders are in the standard form used for Diplomacy - use either full name or accepted three-letter abbreviation for each region, and make sure to double check them to make sure you haven't made a mistake. If an order is not quite right I will take simply what I assume to be the correct interpretation - but if it's wrong I take no responsibility:p The exception to this is if you use an abbreviation which is wrong and ends up as the correct abbreviation for a different region. The easiest way to do this is the Copy-Paste your orders directly from Realpolitik - go to Windows>Orders to bring up the list of orders inputted that go, and simply select the ones for your country. If you don't have realpolitik, just be very careful! :)

After each go I will post a list of orders (and their results), which you can copy-paste into a .txt file and then load them into RP by going Orders>Load Text.
I will also post images of the resolution, and final result of each move (ie the State of Play), for your delectation...
Finally, I will link to a DPY file (the realpolitik game file) from the end of each move, which you can download if you're too lazy to put the orders in yourself, or don't want to check for any possible mistakes.

Moves will in general be 48 hours long, although this first move has been longer, and the second move will also be about a week for a number of reasons. If one person misses a deadline without prior warning, I'll generally give them a little while longer to get orders in, but only a few more hours. If you know you're going to miss a deadline - either put orders in very early, or let us know in advance so we can extend the deadline for everyone. Weekends will have more flexible time constraints, because people are generally online much less.

First to control 33 regions wins. GO! GO! GO!

State of play prior to Spring '94.

oops! The power of habit... I used "moves, Russia" as the heading for my moves.. so that message from me, which seems to be more about England than Russia... it is about England :).

RP is pissing me off. It lets me move whatever I want as far as I want any turn...

Bwoody, I am not really sure on the support rules and how they exactally work, so I am going to send in a couple if/else statements. I hope that is ok and you will respond with why things did not work if they do not (support arrangements)

Hmm, that's weird. I can draw moves out from one side of the map to the next, yes, but when I confirm/ resolve, the line becomes first striped with white, and then is cancelled.

So, it doesn't block when you Confirm the move, then Resolve it?

Oh I see.

Yes it does, I thought the black move line meant it was a valid move. Thank you.

Also... I could support any unit I wish (with regards to the support rules) irregardless of which country controls that unit, right?

Yes, as long as it does not dislodge one of your own.

God I want to have a spoiler board so I can take a guess on what everyone's first round moves are and to go from there.

Yes, you can support anything you like, provided it's going to a region adjacent to the one you're supporting from.

Sounds risky Obdi, you might give people ideas they wouldn't have thought of :)

Yes, as long as the unit doing the support could move into that region, you can support any other unit moving into that region. I got it now.

DPY File (Diplomacy Game File), click to download.

Next deadline is 11pm GMT, Sunday 17th, due to time constraints, mostly of DiBs, and to give more time for newbies to understand how all the orders went down and suchlike...

Works fine for me. Just follow that link and then the one that says "Click here to Download" :)

Saving that, you could copy-paste the orders into a .txt file and then load them into the program using the method I explained further up, and you'd have the same result :)

Unfortunately now the moves have been posted, I can't accept late orders from Ayrin, sorry. The move did last a week though, so there's no excuse really :D

Shitter:(

This demonstrates the importance of provisional orders, people!!
From now on though, most moves will be about 48 hours though, so it shouldn't be so much of a problem.

I accidentally edited this thread title to say Friday instead of Tuesday for the build deadline... dunno why, fixed now :D

Yes, indeed, provisional orders are good...

Question:
Could I get to make the obvious moves anyway? They aren't changed by other peoples moves, and no one could have stopped them, so it doesn't matter that much. Also, if not, England is down one SC, when everyone else is up one or two. Pretty boring way to more or less be out of the game.

The "obvious" moves would have been:
F Nwg - Nor
F Sao - Mor
F Nao - Ire

Please? *puppy eyes*

Well, I am tempted to say yes, because they were the opbvious orders, but I can't make the decision on my own - once more we shall have to poll the players.

If they say yes, then it's ok by me.

But all highly irregular:p
