The Trek has bare knuckle fist fighting in like...every third episode!

Exactly. Why the hell are they fighting bare-fisted when they have phasers? That's just stupid.

Swars doesn't have that, it's just a bunch of excuses for gay ninja's with glow sticks to jump on each other.

Because we all know that sword fighting sucks, right? Wait a minute....

The Jedi council is like the UN, all talk and no action. The Federation however, is not afraid to flash it's firepower where it is required (after attempting dramatic and peaceful negotiation first of course).

Well, once again you are talking about the prequels. Those aren't even in the same league as the original Trilogy.

I did love TNG, I'll admit that. But, it has nothing on the Trilogy.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Yep, the force is strong with George and Gene Rodenberry had no quasi-religions in his creation.

By the way, the women of Star Wars are way hotter than the women of Trek (excluding the random ones from Kirk's television days where a person in a yellow or red outfit would definitely get killed every-time.

Clearly when a man has been cooped up on a Starship for 2 episodes, he has a lot of pent up energy to release, which intermittently leads to a bare chested brawl with an alien. Holo-deck breaks notwithstanding, a Starfleet officer is still a man with a mans needs ... unless he's a woman of course. Uhora was above such base needs since she was clearly a pioneer, Troi chanelled hers into snaring Riker, Beverly Crusher had too much on her hands dealing with Wesley and Tasha was clearly a woman of questionable morality since she took advantage of Data.

And what women in the original Star Wars trilogy? There's only Princess Leia in her gold bikini!

You can't vote for Star Wars without taking the new trilogy into account! It is still Star Wars after all.

Lies, the new 3 have nothing to do with Star Wars and were actually made by an evil Lucas-clone robot sent back through time to ruin his masterpiece. So there.:)

Star Wars FTW. Trekkies tend to be (though obviously not always) the more insufferable type of nerd.

Kill the clone before he does any more damage! Aragh too late, its already had its way with the most important story.

Its funny, I'd almost started to believe the hype about seeing 7,8,9, and I was unhappy to hear it was a big hoax. But thanks to 1,2...(3 was okay) I dont care anymore. Cheers ya great big stoopid evil Lucas clone!

He should have just made a montage of lightsaber fights, Yoda force usage, and Natalie Portman pictures. Talk about a blockbuster.

Mmmmm, Star Wars, Let me see, 3.5 good films and 2.5 BBBAAADDDD films, oh and a cartoon!

Star Trek, 10000000000 films (admittedly most of them are Kirk vs the Klingons) and countless tv series and episodes.

Sorry it's Trek for me hands down

40k could beat both Star Terk and Wasr with one fleet behind its back. FOR THE EMPEROR

I was reading this thread and thinking, "Hmm, maybe I should post a '40k could beat the dilithium midchlorian pants off both" but I obviously thought ahead to when I would see this thread in the future, eg now, and decided to save myself some time. Thanks, past me!
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Star Wars til I die.
Trek was only mildly amusing to me.

No SF comes close to the original trilogy. But I'd still ban Lucas from writing dialogue..

Star Wars for me. used to watch the original 3 movies over and over again in school holidays as a kid.

Star Trek I watched a heap of when I had insomnia, since it was on between 12am - 3am frequently.

I enjoy both, but I would pick Star Wars as my winner. I am a sci-fi nerd though, so I like most sci-fi shows I have watched :)

I'm surprised Star Trek even got 15 votes.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.
