- Abyss, notes whatever we can say about Rake, he went out with a bang... well, technically a big frikkin sword to the head and THEN a bang...

SE couldn't have done it any other way though, could he? Didn't he mention in one of his earliest interviews that he was surprised how much Rake was adored?

For a bit there, I saw Rake and Dassem killing each other and both going into Dragnipur.....Abyss....Rake was teh man, no? Better swordsman I think?

SE, given us what we want, what we NEED.

Considering the point was made (pun intended) that the sword was already insanely heavy and then MORESO when Hood dropped in, and Rake was still fighting Dassem and basically set up the blow that killed him to ensure Dragnipur took him, yeah, i'd say Rake wins that particular Ho'd Win in spades.

- Abyss, does note that's just because Wolverine was busy elsewhere... ;)

hahaha.

So I guess the question is now....is Clip still the Herald of Dark? What about Nimander? Now the Knight? Or does Rake still occupy the spot, though dead and back in his home warren?

Korlat=Magus?

Oh...and does nobody care that Orfantal is dead?!?! None of the Tiste?

Well first off... Andii don't morn their dead. They're just gone... that's that.

Second of all. Allthough time has gone by since the Kallor vs Orfantal fight I suggest they either don't know Orfantal died or that... dun dun duuuunn... Orfantal didn't die. Draconean Soletaken seem to be able to handle a hell of a lot of damage. What's a little chop to the throat to them?

1. I want to see Clip get offed.
2. I don't think being the leader of Rake's Andii denotes Knighthood. Ruin is more likely for Knight in my opinion.
3. I think Rake will have no choice but to become a God now. He can't willfully deny it anymore, so those who worship him, if everything we've read on the creation of Gods is correct, should make him into a God. Father Dark? Lord of Dark?
4. Orfantal: Have we ever seen Rake's Tiste (Nimander's seem to care) mourn the loss of any other Tiste in Wu besides Rake? They seem to mourn the loss of mortals, but are generally blaze about other Tiste. Korlat would be the one most likely to mourn and she doesn't seem to be doing so. I would note that Andii tend to be pretty damn introverted so we probably couldn't tell with most of them anyways.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Well it was serious enough to make him drop Kallor, land, semble into human form and stumble around dying of blood loss from a serious neck wound, leading Kallor to make a joke about how many Tiste Andii he kills.

But you're right, maybe he's fine.

I was almnost dissappointed by that confrontation, but i fgured of anyone, the draconic Andii were most likely to feel Rake's death and Orfantal's mind just wasn't on the fight. He thought he had Kallor - he clearly didn't.

And the point is clearly made that Kallor had a bunch of big dragon claw sized holes in him from that.

- Abyss, can live with Orfantal's death proving just how badass Kallor actually is...

If Rake becomes a God, he'll be a God to the Andii alone I would gather...Son Dark or something like that.

Ruin as Knight would make sense...but this is Silchas fucking Ruin we're talking about...definitely the odd ball of the Andii.

Orfantal toast, I would've thought Korlat would mourn since she had been "awakened" by the death of WJ.

I wonder what Clip is thinking right now...besides the whole "wahh..I never got to confront Daddy Rake...wahhh"

Korlat probably doesn't know yet. Also, the idea of Ruin being the black sheep of the family made me giggle.

And again, blocking a sword swing with too little force, letting your opponent drive your blade into you, is NOT HARD. Rake's still better then Swordar the Swordarian, but that shouldn't be a factor in it.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

With Rake's death I sense a bit of Obi Wan getting offed by Darth, and Gandalf falling to the Balrog.

Have we seen the last of Rake?

Did he truly die though? The impression I got was that his was a true travel into Dark, to confront his Mother and almost forcibly turn her back to the Andii. I wouldn't be suprised if, as suggested, godhood beckons...

I don't want to see Rake becoming a good of his emo-race.He was badass enough to try and make them something more than crying ghosts.Maybe he had enough of their whining so he decided to bring MD back. Now she can deal with them and he can relax ;)

just joking of course, but I think Rake was cooler as someone who denied godhood

As a player in the series, yes. He may still be "around"....but he's not going to come back, blast out of thewarren of Dark, and smoke some CG baddies or anything like that.

I wonder what MD is gonna do now. She's been chased by Chaos for all these years and now she can finally start running....

I want to see her unleashed.

Maybe she will concentrate on helping the surviving Tiste Andii?

i think he may be back, i mean godhood seems inevitable at this point.

and lets be honest i don't care what anyone even SE says, the whole WJ and hounds of light make that a moot point.
