We did, it was the first city they came to in the Domin, and they got there just in time for the hungry hordes to begin their march towards Capustan. I imagine it fell after everybody left.

I have two questions that I can't seem to straighten out:

Who was the kid that saved Harllo?

What about humble measure?

1. Murillio's protoge, something Nom.
2. Good question. He's connected to the Tyrant somehow, he put a contract out on the BB's. This story will be finished in an ICE book.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Erikson said that ICE would deal with the Tyrant in one of his books.

Another question - did Gothos confirm that Raest was his son? Sounded like it to me.

One of my more obnoxious offspring, I believe he said.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Yeah, didn't neccessarily mean he's his son, but clearly some sort of descendant.

Another question: is Tulas Shorn one of the Edur royals that Scabby killed in order to take power??

I seem to remember Tulas having a memory of being the original master of shadow which means he should be able to command the Hounds ala the Edur sorcerer in HoC. It was also interesting that Hounds of Light were about to charge him when he was talking with CoT/ST and that he seemed to enjoy dropping three from a great height. I'd still like to know why Edgewalker finds it amusing that nobody ever asks why the throne of Shadow is vacant.

Thoughts on who the HoL master is? Have we met them?

Possibilities:

Osserc - Champion of Light, known companion and at times nemesis (but not enemy) of Rake.
C.G. - Well, because he's the C.G. and seems to be in on just about everything.
Some unknown as of yet ascendant.

= Some other ascendent we might have or might not have met yet.

FL could be Osserc or someone we have met but hasn't yet been described as FL, or just someone we haven't met.

Osserc is a possibility for father light but i didnt include father light in your description of "unknown as of yet ascendant", as that implies to me one we havent heard of. maybe i just misunderstood you description, wouldnt be the first time ive done something silly like that ;)

but if osserc is FL, why he is:

a. Knight of HHLife
b. presented essentially on par w/ Rake

also, would FL share mother dark's disdain for chaos? seems like FL shouldn't be drinking the blood of an elient, as Osserc must have to be a soletaken dragon.

i mean, i'm not ruling Osserc out but i think it's more likely a character we've yet to meet

1. He's Champion High House Light not Life
2. Rake is Knight High House Dark which are equals in the house positions. As well as the fact that we have several quotes that discuss Rake & Osserc's relationship being one of co-equals and & nemessises.
3. Osserc is a soletaken-eleint, which makes him (as much as I an tell) an Elder God. To become a sole-taken eleint you must have either 1. Drank Tiam's blood, or 2. (less proof but still fairly conclusive) be a child of a soletaken eleint.
4. Any person apart of Order will automatically find Chaos an enemy.

Osserc isn't neccesarily an elder god, he might deny it like Rake did.

Well, Rake was named an Elder-God despite his denial in TBH. It's when the dragons trapped in Emurlahn are talking to Cots.
