There are references to Paran either as himself of the master of the deck in all the books but MT I believe. Though he was only briefly mentioned in RG

The Emperor Kellanved is referenced and discussed by characters in every book, even MT.

If there was a category for being mentioned in the most books, too many characters would have to share the record, since I think lots of characters were mentioned in all 8.

I wonder who's got the largest PoV pagecount? I reckon it's between Cutter and Fiddler, but bugger off if I'm actually going to check. Cutter I think appears in extended PoVs (rather than just brief appearances, as Cottilion and Shadowthrone do) in the most books, since iirc Fiddler was pretty background in GotM.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

I would go with Fiddler on the POV page count measure. He has been central to three books - DG, HoC & BH with POV time in each. I'm not sure you can say the same for others, although some of the other Malazan soldier types will come close.

Who gets 'smallest overall POV appearance'?

I'm thinking the farmboy who gets offed by the KC in RG... "Wow it shure is nice out here hey is that a lizard oh crap i'm dead." . :D

- Abyss, briefly.

Poliel?
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Didn't the Errant think of him in MT?

Possibly. I just seemed to remember some recognition of Paran from the Errant. I could be wrong tho...

edit: nvm, it was probably in RG...
