Well, the Yankees would never allow Jeter to retire and unretire, and then retire and unretire and then boss them around about unretiring. But, that might be because the Yankees have the biggest legends in baseball and the most, ahem (world) championships in any sport to associate with.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I'm not talking to you SS until you unjinx the Yankees! :(

I wish I could fix them. Alas, I have no hold over them. They fail all on their own.

Packers offer Favre 20 million to stay retired, considering trade to a nfc north team, Favre may instead play for a local high school!

Ok, so he's not really going to play for a high school

That's some pretty decent cash for not playing...

So, he's not going to take it? He'd rather be traded to a rival team and break all your Packer hearts...nice guy.

The man just wants to play football some more. Is that so wrong? Trade him to the JEts or Bucs and be done with the whole thing.

I lolololololed.

What happens if Favre plays for the Queenies? I would be laughing my way to the NFC championship, at least.

If he wins a ring as a 1 season viking after all those years for the cheeseheads, oh lordy lordy lordy.

I think they'd send him to the bears before the vikings. He would help the vikings be a contender, not as much so with the bears.

Bah even if he plays for the packers, the vikings _should_ win the division. With Favre, they might have a shot at a nice set of rings.

AHAHAHAHAH. Pack has no running game at all, and your defense is mediocre.

Pack will win 7 without farve, if they are lucky. Lions will win 7, Bears will win lol 5.

queenies will pull out 8 or 9 for the victory of the division.

This is all without favre. Add 2 games to any team who gets favre.

Umm, we've got basically the same defense as last year, which was top ten. As long as we resign Grant, the running game will be fine, as it was for the latter half of the season last year. Receivers are solid. The only question mark is QB. Am I going to say we're going to the superbowl? Probably not, but the packers are fielding basically the same team as last year, which was pretty damn good.

All teams in the NFC North have question marks. How good is Tavarres Jackson, really? Good enough to take the Vikings to the playoffs?!?!

Not if he plays like he did last year.

HOw durable is Adrian Peterson? My guess is not very, but I could be wrong.

How bad does Rex Grossman suck? Like the black hole of shitty quarterbacks.

Now Favre is apparently mulling the money offer to stay retired. I tell ya, the comedy and entertainment never ends with this story.

That might end up being the only way to settle this. Eatch, they pay him, he doesn't come back, and then Rodgers breaks his leg the second week of training camp and they have to beg him to come back.

He would not be able to come back, since his re-instatement would have been cancelled.

If he takes the money to stay retired, he cannot play this year.
